Industrial & Environmental Concepts (IEC) Completes Work on Iconic Reflection Pond for the City of Minneapolis Industrial and Environmental Concepts (IEC), replaced the aging liner for the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota’s Sculpture Garden. The Spoonbridge and Cherry Reflection Pond is arguably Minneapolis’s most famous sculpture in the State of Minnesota. IEC was selected to supply and install high density polyethylene (HDPE), the impermeable membrane that keeps the water in the basin. Rolls of HDPE were custom fabricated and seamed together using specialized welding equipment to insure the plastic conformed to the curvature and slope of the basin. Since opening in 1988, the Garden has welcomed millions of visitors, showcasing the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry. IEC competes globally for the design and installation of geomembrane projects. IEC liners and covers are used worldwide, serving a wide range of public and private clients. For more information, go to www.ieccovers.com
