Olivet Cemetery in Estill Springs with military honors. Mr. Lohorn passed away June 8, 2016 at Heritage Hospice in Marietta, GA. Mr. Lohorn was born in Howell, KY to the late William and Nettie Hall Lohorn. Mr. Lohorn was of the Baptist faith and was a retired master electrician. Mr. Lohorn's favorite hobbies were woodworking, fishing, hunting and flying. He was a private pilot and belonged to Plymouth Flying Club in Plymouth, N.C. Mr. Lohorn was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a loving, selfless, strong, forgiving, humble and God loving man. He loved God and his family. Most of all, he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather that will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of fiftysix years, Linda Lohorn; son, Wilson Lohorn and wife, Beverly of Kennesaw, GA; daughter, Diana Charbonneau and husband, Joseph of Saratoga, NC; grandchildren, David Lee Lohorn of Pembroke, NC, Emily Lohorn Johnson and husband, Nicholas of Kennesaw, GA, Wilson Hunter Lohorn of Kennesaw, GA, Jessica Charbonneau Joyner and husband, Clint of Rocky Mount, NC; and great grandchild, Cooper Lee Johnson. Joel Hassell officiating. Burial in Maplewood Cemetery. Mr. Shuran passed away June 10, 2016. A native of Winchester, he was the son of the late Peter and Fannie Mary Noblitt Shuran. Mr. Shuran was a member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church where he was very active. He was an electrical engineer and had worked at AEDC. He enjoyed studying the Civil War and loved old Ford Mustangs, mathematics and science. He enjoyed woodworking, blacksmithing and spending time with his family. He was an animal lover and especially enjoyed his pets. Mr. Shuran was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in his late 50’s and fought a long, courageous fight since. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sandra Huddleston. Survivors include his wife, Melissa Bailey Shuran of Tullahoma; sons, Mickey Shuran and wife, Wendy of Tullahoma and Luke Shuran and wife, Tarah of Tullahoma; sister, Carolyn Robertson of Campbell, CA; brother-inlaw, Keith Bailey and wife, Ramona of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Colin, Emilee, Halle and Brighton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Tullahoma Educational Foundation for Excellence; or, the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P. O. MODENA, WILLIAM LYONS - 87, Winchester, TN. Graveside service, 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Mt. Garner Cemetery with military honors and Lyle Starnes presiding. Mr. Modena passed away June 6, 2016 at the home of George W. and Patricia Taylor in Altamont, TN. Also known to friends and family as ‘Mo’ or ‘Billy’, he was the son of the late Robert T. & Lillian A. Modena of Decherd. Mr. Modena was a long time member of Decherd church of Christ. He loved the Lord and was active in the church, serving as a deacon. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired from Cleveland Pneumatics in Tullahoma as a machinist, and, until taken over by the industrial park, farmed land that was in their family for over 100 years on what is now Modena Road in Decherd. Covered over time with wood and brick facades, his home place was a pre-Civil War log house which was relocated to the New Market, AL area by the new owner. During his life, Mr. Modena enjoyed repairing machinery, riding his motorcycle with friends, frequenting the Monteagle Flea Market, and was especially fond of his canine family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of almost 52 years, Dorothy Evelyn Arledge Modena; his second wife of almost 7 years, Betty Jean Thomas Trammel Modena; cousins, Josie Tipps and Mary Sue Bass; favorite cousin and best friend, E. C. Carson; aunts, Artie Mary Carson and Grace Hester; great aunt, Elsie Browning; and uncle, Jess Adams. Survivors include Betty’s children, who came to be like his own and was known to them as ‘Pa’, Patricia (George) Taylor of Altamont, Larry (Lynn) Thomas of Sewanee, Jerry Thomas of Chattanooga and Raymond Edward (Sarah) Thomas of Cowan; cousins, Harvey Browning of Decherd, Louise Cowan of Decherd, Judy West of Tullahoma, Mary Alice Sells of Winchester and Grace Whitfield of Fayetteville; sisters-in-law (Dorothy’s sisters), Ann Arledge Powell, Dale (Barry) Stewart and Ruth (Tom) Bartek, all of Winchester and their families; caring friend and neighbor, Wayne Johnson. He was a survivor of the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge being there 42 days. He was very proud of his military service. Mr. Davis was also very proud of being a published poet multiple times. He was a devout Christian who enjoyed reading his Bible. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Keith I Davis and Elmer L.
