Are you new here? Thanks for joining us for our church gathering! Here are a few hints to help you through the morning...

We take our coffee seriously. That’s why we’ve got ethically sourced and fairly traded coffee available. Help yourself to it at any time. Our treat.

Family Ties. Coffee & Connection Time is what we call the 10-minute break during our gathering. We do this so adults can refill their coffee and kids can get to their classrooms. Our nursery is available at any time during the gathering for babies 24 months and younger. For information about Kids at the Ridge (age 3-grade 5), please visit the Welcome Centre.

Welcome Centre Hosts Needed

NEW LIFE Group Launches on Monday

One way to get connected at JRCC is to be part of a serving team. We’re currently looking for additional Welcome Centre hosts. This position involves providing information and registration assistance to people on a two weeks on, four weeks off rotation. Please pick up a position profile at the Welcome Centre and e-mail Jeneah Lightfoot ([email protected]) if you’re interested.

Tomorrow evening marks the beginning of a 7-week LIFE Group focused on the topic of clarifying one’s mission in life. This group will be facilitated by Dave Jackson (of the MB Conference) and will be hosted by Dustin and th Christina Morin (#104 – 19551 66 Ave) on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. (March 12-April 23). To sign up for the group or to browse through a sample booklet of the teaching material, please visit the Welcome Centre.

Do We Have Your Current E-mail Address?

If you're a student in grades 6-12, check out The Source, which happens the first and last Sunday of each month. Learn about the details at the Welcome Centre. Want someone to pray with you? We’ll have people who can pray with you available at the end of our gathering. You can tell them as much or as little as you’d like. They won’t be nosy and they’ll keep it to themselves.

We’d love for you to fill out a Welcome Card at the Welcome Centre. This will help us respond to any questions you might have. Don’t worry, we won’t bother you with annoying phone calls or spam mail. Promise. You might also want to visit our website (jerichoridge.com), become a fan of our facebook page, or follow us on Twitter (@jerichoridge). Thanks for coming! We hope to see you again soon.

What’s happening?

Does our church office have your current e-mail address? If not, please use your preferred account and e-mail [email protected] with this information. This will allow us to update our records and also make it much easier for you to login into our new database system when it launches April 1.

Guatemala Fundraising Goals Met... Thanks To The Kids! We’re pleased to announce that our kids raised $490 by memorizing Bible verses and collecting pledges. These funds carried us across our fundraising finish line for our 2012 Guatemala team. All of the team’s project needs have now been met! Thanks to everyone for your generosity!

2012 Guatemala Team Our team of 15 people in is Guatemala until Saturday, March 17. During the week, the team will be building two houses and distributing 60 wheelchairs. They’ll also be distributing food, water filters, and clothing (they took 18 suitcases FULL of shoes and clothes!). Please keep the team in your prayers as well as the Guatemalans that they’ll be ministering to. Make sure to follow our Twitter account (@jerichoridge) and Facebook page for updates throughout the week.

Easter Weekend Events Here are the community-wide Easter events that you can look forward to: ·      Join JRCC and other churches for a city-wide Good Friday worship event at Christian Life Assembly on April 6 at 10 a.m. ·      Come to the LEC on Saturday for a community egg hunt from 9 a.m. – noon (we’re partnering with the LEC and the TOL). We’re looking for volunteers for 90-minute shifts so please sign up at the Welcome Centre.  ·      Wake up early on Easter Sunday and join others for a sunrise gathering at Derby Reach Regional Park from 6:15-7:00 a.m. You can then join JRCC in the Banquet Hall from 9-10 for a potluck brunch followed by our Easter worship gathering which will begin at 10:30.

Church Directory We haven’t had a current church directory since... ever. But in just a few weeks, you’ll be able to view or print a directory at the click of a button through ACS, our new computerized database system. This will let you provide as much (or as little) information about yourself for others to view and also help you contact people throughout the week.

March Youth Event – Wave Pool On Thursday, March 29, our youth are going to the Newton Wave Pool for a great time. We’ll be meeting at the Wave Pool at 7 p.m. (bring $4 for admission). The best part is that there’s no preregistration for the event so you can invite your friends right up to the last minute!! But please let Mike know if you’re planning on coming so he can estimate our total numbers.

Thanks For Your Flexibility Last Week We apologize for the classroom switches that happened last Sunday for Kids at the Ridge. We learned about some of these changes Sunday morning and did our best to troubleshoot as the shot clock was winding down. We want to thank everyone for their patience and for our many volunteers who did extra work to ensure that things ran smoothly. Thank you!

Sunday Cinema Tammy Smethurst, administrative coordinator, [email protected] Ruth Ellen Crossley, children's director, [email protected] Mike Olynyk, youth director, [email protected]

We’ll be taking a break from our regular Kids at the Ridge programming to do Sunday Cinema during Spring Break. This is a fun morning for kids to play, interact, and watch a film together. We’re still in need of adult help with Sunday Cinema on March 18 as well as this morning. To sign up, please speak with the sign-in volunteer or Ruth Ellen Crossley, or you can simply record your name on the Sunday Cinema signup sheet.
