Are you new here? Thanks for joining us for our church gathering! Here are a few hints to help you through the morning...

We take our coffee seriously. That’s why we’ve got ethically sourced and fairly traded coffee available. Help yourself to it at any time. Our treat.

What’s happening? Family Ties. Coffee & Connection Time is what we call the 10-minute break during our gathering. We do this so adults can refill their coffee and kids can get to their classrooms. Our nursery is available at any time during the gathering for babies 24 months and younger.

Kids at the Ridge is the name of our program for chldren who are age 2 to grade 5. Learn about the details at the Kids at the Ridge check-in table. Want someone to pray with you? We’ll have people who can pray with you available at the end of our gathering. You can tell them as much or as little as you’d like. They won’t be nosy and they’ll keep it to themselves.

“We aspire to be a loving and listening people, extending God’s hope and reconciliation to our community in all of life, all of the time” We’d love for you to fill out a Welcome Card at the Welcome Centre. This will help us respond to any questions you might have. Don’t worry, we won’t bother you with annoying phone calls or spam mail. Promise. You might also want to visit our website (jerichoridge.com), become a fan of our facebook page, or follow us on Twitter (@jerichoridge). Thanks for coming! We hope to see you again soon.

JRCC Quick Link Looking for a church friend’s phone number or e-mail? Or maybe the location of next month’s youth event? Type churchlife.mobi into your web browser and then click on the “sign in with your e-mail” link that appears in the top right corner. Enter the e-mail address and password that you created when you signed up for ACS. Once you do, you’ll have access to the JRCC directory and church calendar. If you can’t find the person you’re looking for, it’s because they haven’t opted into the directory yet! Give them a forthright reminder and direct them to the Welcome Centre where they can pick up a step-by-step instructions document to get themselves started. You can also download the Churchlife app on your smartphone (this will work for devices that use Android or iPhone operating systems).

Save the Dates Feb 24 – Pragmatics: choose between two Sunday evening class options March 3 – Newcomer’s luncheon: join JRCC’s staff and elders for a get-to-know-you meal (12-2 p.m.) March 9 – Prayer training: learn key prayer principles on Saturday (9-3:30 p.m.) from Esther Corbett (MB Mission’s Prayer Coordinator). Lunch will be included and the event will be hosted at North Langley CC. March 17-24 – Guatemala team: pray for missions team as they minister to needy people in Guatemala March 31 – Easter brunch: join us for a brunch buffet before our worship gathering (9-10 a.m.)

Thanks Movie-Goers! Thanks to everyone who participated in last week’s Guatemala movie fundraiser. Through ticket sales and donations, the team raised $1,116.19 which pays for almost 10 wheelchairs (9.7 to be more precise)!!

Guatemala Bake Sale: Buy a Treat for Your Valentine Our Guatemala team will be having a bake sale next Sunday to raise funds for their upcoming trip in March. There will be lots of yummy treats available to take home for your valentine (or yourself!). How many cupcakes do you think it will take to sponsor a wheelchair?

Guatemala Penny Drive Pennies are going out of circulation beginning on Monday. If your leftover pennies could talk, we think they’d say their dying wish is to be used to support our Guatemala team! Bring your pennies (and other coins if you’d like) to JRCC and put them to good use (you can deposit your pennies in the bucket at the Welcome Centre).

2012 Charitable Tax Receipts Year-end tax receipts are available at the Welcome Centre. Thanks to everyone who gave faithfully in 2012!

On Sunday, Feb 24 we’ll be offering two different evening classes to help you interact with kids and youth. Coffee and refreshments will be available and the cost for each class is $5 (childcare will be available for $3 per child). You can register online or visit the Welcome Centre to receive registration help.

Cultivating Spiritual Curiosity in Your Child Every kid has questions! So how are we supposed to respond? In this class, you'll learn how to converse with kids when they ask questions that relate to faith and life. You’ll find out why giving the “right” answer can sometimes be the wrong method as well as how to kindle your child’s natural curiosity. This class will run from 6-7:30 p.m. in Room B.

Social Media and our Kids Our kids are being brought up in a world of tablets, computers, and handheld devices. Danny Ferguson of Youth Unlimited and Mike Olynyk will be hosting this class that will explore what's out there and how we can raise kids to have healthy social interactions through media and technology. The focus will be on three topics: how to establish healthy communication with your child, how to create and discuss healthy boundaries with your child, and how to use resources to learn more about this topic. This class will run from 6-8 p.m. in Room 220.
