Are you new here? Thanks for joining us for our church gathering! Here are a few hints to help you through the morning...

We take our coffee seriously. That’s why we’ve got ethically sourced and fairly traded coffee available. Help yourself to it at any time. Our treat.

Family Ties. Coffee & Connection Time is what we call the 10-minute break during our gathering. We do this so adults can refill their coffee and kids can get to their classrooms. Our nursery is available at any time during the gathering for babies 24 months and younger. For information about Kids at the Ridge (age 3-grade 5), please visit the Welcome Centre.

Summer Camp 2012: GO BIG! Online registration is now available for JRCC’s first ever summer camp. GO BIG is a fun half-day camp centred on connecting kids with God's love through exploring the Big God story. The camp will be hosted in the LEC’s Banquet Hall during the mornings of Tuesday-Friday, July 3-6. Event details and registration information can be found online or at the Welcome Centre.

Contribute to Worship in Song at JRCC

If you're a student in grades 6-12, check out The Source, which happens the first and last Sunday of each month. Learn about the details at the Welcome Centre. Want someone to pray with you? We’ll have people who can pray with you available at the end of our gathering. You can tell them as much or as little as you’d like. They won’t be nosy and they’ll keep it to themselves.

“We aspire to be a loving and listening people, extending God’s hope and reconciliation to our community in all of life, all of the time” We’d love for you to fill out a Welcome Card at the Welcome Centre. This will help us respond to any questions you might have. Don’t worry, we won’t bother you with annoying phone calls or spam mail. Promise. You might also want to visit our website (jerichoridge.com), become a fan of our facebook page, or follow us on Twitter (@jerichoridge). Thanks for coming! We hope to see you again soon.

What’s happening?

Music offered as worship can bring us closer to God and to one another by reminding us of God's character and enabling us to freely express our sorrows and our joys. If playing an instrument, harmonizing with tunes on the radio, making stuff look classy on-screen, or tweaking levels on a mixing board is your thing, this announcement is for you. Right now we are in need of bass players, sound techs, and MediaShout (computer) operators. If you would like to learn more about serving in any of these areas, please contact Jared Crossley at 778-878-5273 or [email protected].

Taking the Highland Road You might remember that J Janzen, pastoral elder at Highland Community Church in Abbotsford, spoke at JRCC last June. Pastor Keith will be returning the favour today when he visits Highland with his family and teaches on 1 John 4.

You Can Help Kids in Tanzania From May 14-26, Brad Sumner and Peter Ash will be in Tanzania working with people with albinism (PWA) through a charity called Under The Same Sun. They are looking to fill a suitcase with donated WIDE-BRIMMED HATS, LONGSLEEVED SHIRTS (lightweight and light coloured), SUNSCREEN LOTION (must have a minimum SPF of 30, the higher the better) and new or gently used sunglasses. Please bring all items to the Welcome Centre on Sunday mornings. For more info on PWAs in Tanzania, please visit www.underthesamesun.com.

Men of Integrity: 2012 Men’s Retreat Early-bird registration is still open for our June 1-3 retreat, hosted at Kawkawa Camp & Resort. The theme for this year’s retreat is developing integrity and we’ll be studying the life of Joseph based on the Genesis story. Act quickly! The early bird registration rate of $125 ends May 13 (you can register online at jerichoridge.com).

YFC Garage Sale Langley Youth Unlimited is having their annual fundraising garage sale on Saturday, May 26 from 9-3 at the Ferguson home (19618 Wakefield Drive). They’re looking for item donations (i.e. clothes, books, household items, DVDs, toys) and also folding tables that can be used on the day of the sale. Plus, they’d love people to come and shop on the day of the event! E-mail April Ferguson ([email protected]; 604.530.4822) to arrange for a pickup or drop-off of your donation. Thanks for supporting our local youth!

Becoming Soul Mates – Couples’ Relationship Seminar JRCC is very excited to host nationally known best-selling authors Drs. Les & Leslie Parrott for a one-evening couples’ seminar on Friday, June 22 (7-10 p.m.). As the host site for the Fraser Valley, we have received preferred ticket pricing of $50 per couple (plus HST). Registration is available on JRCC’s website so signup via ACS (our online registration and calendar system) to secure your spot. We anticipate this event will sell out so begin inviting friends and neighbours now so they can register and receive the preferred rate. Additional event info is available at the Welcome Centre.

Kids’ Check-In Update

JRCC Gathering

Kids @ the Ridge Sign-in

After fixing an internet connection problem, we were able to run the check-in system without any problems last week! Thank you for your patience as we work through the final kinks in the system. Due to the room changes for the nursery and 2’s, we're setting up the check-in system to allow all kids (nursery - Grade 5) to check in at the same computers in the Banquet Hall. Please make sure to do this before dismissal so that you don’t have to return to the Banquet Hall again.

Age 3 – K Room A From Stairs

Fourth Floor

Due to today’s gymnastics event in the LEC, we will be moving Nursery and 2’s up to the fourth floor. The following is where each age group will be located. Room A will be divided with 4-kindergarten classes in the first half (first door at top of stairs) and 2-3 year olds in the second half (enter at second door down the hall), Room B is the same with Grades 1-5, and Room C will be the Nursery (birth-24 months). NOTE: Nursery and 2’s will need to check-in at the Banquet Hall tables this week since there won’t be any computers on the fourth floor. Nursery parents will receive a pager when they drop their child off in Room C.

If you are in grades 6-12, meet Mike at the Welcome Centre at the end of Coffee & Connection Time for a group time spent discussing issues that matter to teens.
