Are you new here? Thanks for joining us for our church gathering! Here are a few hints to help you through the morning...

We take our coffee seriously. That’s why we’ve got ethically sourced and fairly traded coffee available. Help yourself to it at any time. Our treat.

Coffee & Connection Time is what we call the 10-minute break during our gathering. This gives adults a chance to refill their coffee while kids get to their classrooms. Parents can take their baby (24 months and younger) to the nursery at any time.

Kids at the Ridge is the name of our program for children who are age 2 to grade 5. Find out more by visiting the check-in table at the Welcome Centre. Want someone to pray with you? We’ll have people who can pray with you available at the end of our gathering. You can tell them as much or as little as you’d like. They won’t be nosy and they’ll keep it to themselves.

“We aspire to be a loving and listening people, extending God’s hope and reconciliation to our community in all of life, all of the time” We’d love for you to fill out a Welcome Card at the Welcome Centre. This will help us respond to any questions you might have. We won’t bother you with unwanted phone calls or spam mail. We promise. You might also want to visit our website, jerichoridge.com, become a fan of our Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter, @jerichoridge.   Thanks for joining us! We hope to see you again soon.

Family Ties.

What’s happening? Alpha Starts this Wednesday

Today’s Speaker: Danny Ferguson Danny is just a normal guy (at least that’s what he tells us). He likes to ride motorcycles, watch movies, and discuss philosophy. He’s the director of the Langley Youth Unlimited team which means he’s a youth worker, teacher, friend, and regular at the local coffee shop. Danny loves being married to his wife April and they are constantly entertained by their four children: Josiah, Avery, Micah, and Caleb.

2013 Tax Receipts Thank you to those who generously gave to Jericho Ridge Community Church over the past year. Charitable tax receipts for donations made to JRCC in 2013 will be available at the Welcome Centre the next two Sundays (Jan 26 & Feb 2). Receipts that are not picked up by Feb 2 will be mailed. If you have any questions about charitable giving, please contact Tammy Smethurst ([email protected]).

Summer Camp Hiatus This summer, we will be taking a break from our annual Go Big Summer Day Camp.  With the Crossley and Olynyk babies scheduled to arrive in July we want our staff and volunteer team to focus their energies on planning and preparing for the fall.

We all carry questions and Alpha is one of the best places to ask them. The Alpha course is an eight-week experience that includes dinner, an intriguing video talk, and small group discussion. No question is too big, too hard, or too out-there. North Langley Community Church will be hosting Alpha on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:45 p.m. from Jan 22-Mar 26. For more information, please contact Pastor Keith ([email protected]).

“Half the Church” Book Club    Join a new LIFE Group based on the book “Half the Church: Recapturing God’s Global Vision for Women”. We will use the reading as a basis to discuss God’s calling on women and what this means for the next stage of women’s ministry at JRCC. This four-week study will be on Sunday mornings from 8-10 a.m. at the Sumners’ home from Feb 2-23. You can register and buy the book for $15 via ACS. For more info, please contact Carmen Meier ([email protected]).

LIFE Groups New small groups are starting up in the weeks ahead and we’ve got existing groups that are hoping to add new friends to the mix as they begin new studies. Most of our groups will meet for a season of 6-8 weeks while they study a specific topic. Details for all of our groups can be found at the Welcome Centre or by speaking with Pastor Keith.

February Football We’re planning a men’s football game to be played at Fort Langley Community Park on the morning of Saturday, Feb 1. The game is open to all men (teens and older) of all skill levels (perceived and actual). More details will be announced next Sunday.
