Are you new here? Thanks for joining us for our church gathering! Here are a few hints to help you through the morning...

We take our coffee seriously. That’s why we’ve got ethically sourced and fairly traded coffee available. Help yourself to it at any time. Our treat.

Coffee & Connection Time is what we call the ten-minute break during our gathering. This gives adults a chance to refill their coffee while kids get to their classrooms. Parents of nursery-aged children (birth to 12 months) are welcome to look after their child in the space behind the curtain on the north end of the Banquet Hall.

Kids at the Ridge is the name of our program for children who are age 1 to grade 6. Find out more by visiting the check-in table at the Welcome Centre.

Family Ties. Today’s Teaching Focus: Remember and Celebrate Today’s worship time will follow the format that our kids enjoy during their “Remember and Celebrate” Sundays. It will include a summary of what the kids have been learning (presented by Jerome the puppet!), teaching on the feast of harvest (led by Pastor Brad!), a rousing game of Zonk (complete with sound effects!), and some tasty snacks (oh boy!).

Guatemala 2015 Report Want someone to pray with you? We’ll have people who can pray with you available at the end of our gathering. You can tell them as much or as little as you’d like. They won’t be nosy and they’ll keep it to themselves.

We’d love for you to fill out a Welcome Card at the Welcome Centre. This will help us respond to any questions you might have. We won’t bother you with unwanted phone calls or spam mail. We promise. You might also want to visit our website, jerichoridge.com, become a fan of our Facebook page facebook.com/jerichoridge or follow us on Twitter, twitter.com/jerichoridge. Thanks for joining us! We hope to see you again soon.

Our 12-person team is back from their week long service trip to Guatemala. The team was able to show God’s love and hope to many needy families. Today we will hear an update from the team about the work that was done and the experiences that were had during their time serving in Guatemala. Thank you to everyone in our community that supported this project through generous gifts and prayer.

Simplify Book Clubs You can now register for one of our five-week book clubs that will begin the weekend after Easter. Constance Zacharias will be leading the group for women on Sunday evenings from 6:30- 8:30 at the church office (beginning April 12). Tony Little will be leading the men’s group on Saturday mornings from 7-9 at his home in Walnut Grove (beginning April 11). You can sign up for these groups at the Welcome Centre.

Service Opportunity – Serving Dinner to Local Youth Thanks to our friends at Langley Youth Unlimited, our church has the opportunity to prepare and serve dinner to 35 youth at their Hangar 17 site on Wed, April 22. We’re looking for people who can help with food prep and grocery shopping. If you’d like to help, please visit the Welcome Centre to sign up.

What’s happening? Men’s Soccer Night Guys, join us this upcoming Friday, April 3 for a pick-up game of soccer. We’ll be meeting at the LEC’s rugby field (the grass field that’s closest to 20oth Street) at 8:00 p.m. Invite a friend and bring your cleats.

Good Friday City-Wide Gathering Join others from our broader church community for a city-wide gathering at CLA (21277 56 Ave) at 10 a.m. on Good Friday, April 3. David Smith of Crossway Church will be speaking and the music will be led by Dear Rouge. An offering will be received for GAiN’s Water for Life initiative. Remember to arrive early to get seats (unless you like standing!)

Easter Potluck Brunch Make sure to register for our April 5 brunch that will be hosted in the Banquet Hall (at 9:00 a.m.) before our Easter worship gathering. Our hospitality team will be providing pancakes, sausages, and beverages. When you register online, you can select the food item that you’ll be bringing so that we can make sure that all of the food groups are accounted for (important, right?). There is always lots of great food and this is the perfect way to get to know others from our church. Today is the last day to sign up, please go to jerichoridge.com to register or visit the Welcome Centre.

Easter Sunrise Gathering One of our annual traditions is to partner with NLCC for a sunrise gathering during the early hours of Easter Sunday. We’ll be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus with Easter music and a short devotional and then enjoying hot drinks and snacks by a warm fire. Meet our group at the Marpole Picnic Shelter at Derby Reach Regional Park (208 St & Allard Cres.) at 6:15 a.m. on April 5. JRCC’s Tyler Harper will be speaking.

Remember and Celebrate

Kids at the Ridge – Remember and Celebrate! Staff Contact Information: #604.629.7804 Brad Sumner, lead pastor, [email protected] Keith Reed, associate pastor, [email protected] Tammy Smethurst, admin. coordinator, [email protected] Ellen Franson, children's director, [email protected] Miriam Faulkes, children's director, [email protected] Photo Mike Ryder, student ministries director, [email protected] coming soon!

Today our kids from Kindergarten and up will remain in the gathering, and teach all the adults a thing or two about Remembering and Celebrating. Get ready to learn about the Feast of Harvest, and to review our recent lessons, with all your favourite elements: Jerome, Zonk, and even snack! During Coffee and Connection our Caterpillars (one-year-olds) will head to Room C for class this morning, while our Tadpoles through Koalas (two-year-olds through four-year-olds) will enjoy Sunday Cinema in Room B.

Fuel Our Fuel kids (grades 5 & 6) will remain in the gathering for Remember and Celebrate this morning. Most of these kids are Remember and Celebrate veterans, so adults, if you're not sure what to do, try to sit beside one of them!

Teaching Opportunity in Kids at the Ridge We find ourselves in need of a Grade 1 teacher for six weeks between now and summer (the first two Sundays of each month.) If you have a heart for kids, and some time to devote to sharing the Big God story with this cool group, contact Miriam at [email protected] or Ellen at [email protected].

Fusion Youth Night If you are grade 7-12, join us this Thursday, April 2 from 7-9 p.m. for a night of hanging out, games, music and great discussions as we partner with other youth ministries in the Willoughby area at Mountainview Alliance Church. See you there!
