Initiate Forgiveness

3. It is a believer’s responsibility to initiate reconciliation.

Matthew 5:23-25 December 18, 2016

Nick Sandefur, Sr. Pastor

Reconciliation usually doesn’t get easier.

We often judge others by their actions and ourselves by our intentions. Jesus advice: Drop everything & make it right.

As sinful people, we all have the capability of being an offender.

Why Seek Reconciliation "quickly”? 1. It is costly to have unresolved conflict in your life.

Don’t create a wound in order to practice reconciliation.

How Do You Reconcile?  Face to face.

 Learn to say I am sorry. you have been trapped by the words of your lips— ensnared by the words of your mouth. Do this, then, my son, and free yourself, for you have put yourself in your neighbor’s power: Go, humble yourself, and plead with your neighbor. Don’t give sleep to your eyes or slumber to your eyelids.

 Do what you can to make amends.  Specifically ask for forgiveness. If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone.

Romans 12:18

Escape like a gazelle from a hunter, like a bird from a fowler’s trap.

Proverbs 6:2-5  Do your part and trust God.

2. Your relationship with God is affected by your relationship with other people.

We have all been the offender when it comes to God.
