August 19 Luncheon—Community R Factor Training

H

ow do you navigate the events of life and work in a way that produces great results? There is a powerful equation which Hilliard Schools has been using from the partnership it has had with Tim Kight and his Focus 3 team: E + R = O Event + Response = Outcome Tim has worked with Urban Meyer and The Ohio State University Football Program over the past few years. His message—that a successful reaction isn’t impulsive but a skill that can be taught— has hit home with the Ohio State players who have harnessed a Tim Kight power of positive responses to every imaginable event. Using ideas he received from Kight, Meyer set a standard of Above the Line behavior to coaching. You don’t control Events and you don’t control Outcomes---you can only control how you Respond. That is The R Factor. Hilliard Schools has been in partnership with Tim Kight for the last few years to bring Tim’s expertise to the administrators and teachers. Beginning this fall all students in the Hilliard Schools will begin to work on R Factor training, to give them the tools they need to navigate the events of school and home life. John Marschhausen, Superintendent of Hilliard Schools, will inform our members and guests at our monthly luncheon...

August 19th Luncheon

...about The R Factor as the training is also important for our businesses and community members on Friday, August 19 at the Makoy Center at 11:30 am. Companies across the United States are recognizing Tim Kight as a powerful voice on the performance of people. With a contagious energy, Tim provides insight into the “physics of performance.”   Tim’s ability to connect with and inspire individuals, teams, and leaders has yielded exceptional reviews from organizations throughout the country. Building and sustaining the Hilliard Schools culture requires intentional effort from everyone in the district, including our community members.  Hilliard Schools would like to invite you to hear from Tim Kight and his Focus 3 team as they present seven nights of R Factor training. The sessions will begin on September 11 at 7pm at Hilliard Darby High School, 4200 Leppert Road.  They will run each Sunday through October 23 and last no more than an hour.  We know how busy your schedules get in the fall, so please make plans now to attend. Tim Kight has invited Columbus area CEO’s to be a part of this series.  They will open each night with how their companies are using the R Factor in their day to day business operations.  They will discuss why it’s important to be bringing this program to the students in Hilliard and how this will give them life skills necessary to be successful in after school jobs, college and the world after college. We will be meeting at the Makoy Center, 5462 Center Street in Old Hilliard, and reservations are required. You may make them by going to our website, www.hilliardchamber.org, calling the office at 614.876.7666, or by completing the form on page 7 of this newsletter by August 16th. Thank you Little Hercules Foundation for sponsoring this luncheon!
