Volunteer on a Committee— Golf and the Taste of Hilliard & Business Expo!

e have some upcoming events which need volunteers to make them run smoothly. The Golf Outing will be on Monday, June 12 at Heritage Golf Club and we need people to assist with the preparations and also the day of the event. The committee will meet in March to determine activities and sponsorships for the outing.

The Taste of Hilliard & Business Expo which will be held at the Makoy Center on Wednesday, August 2, also needs members on its committee. The responsibilities include helping with the planning of the event, following up with our sponsors, distributing materials, etc. Meetings will be held during the day for the months prior to the event. Both of these committees are great ways for chamber members to network with others in a smaller environment while helping the chamber execute fun events! Please contact Libby Gierach at 614.876.7666 or via email at [email protected] if you are interested in either committee.

In Your Shoes Featuring Coffee Connections of Hilliard uring the month of February, Libby walked in the shoes of Coffee Connections of Hilliard. Learning how to make a pour-over coffee was really interesting in addition to being able to talk to so many nice customers. This is definitely a connection place in Old Hilliard! We are excited to get to know our members more intimately and to also highlight this in your shoes time on our social media channels. It’s important to continue to provide fresh and unique content for your followers on social media. This opportunity will allow YOUR business and ours the opportunity to promote our member businesses in an interesting behind the scenes look.

When Libby walks in your shoes, she will commit to doing a Facebook Live post and other posts throughout the time that she is on site at your business. More than anything else, we are excited for the opportunity to get to know our members more and to help you connect to the Hilliard community in creative ways! Spots are open in 2017! If you are interested in having Libby walk in your shoes – give her a call today at 614.876.7666 or send her an email at [email protected] so we can get you on the schedule.

#HilliardsHappening Candidate’s Night for Hilliard City ADD YOUR Council

EVENT

J

oin the community on Wednesday, April 12 to hear the views and opinions of the five Republican candidates running for four positions on the May 2 primary ballot. The forum will take place at the Norwich Township Joint Safety Services Building at 5181 Northwest Parkway from 7:00-8:30 pm. As Hilliard is only one of three central Ohio communities that have a partisan council, when there is a contested election the Hilliard Chamber provides the voters to come and ask questions of those wishing to lead the city council. There are also two Democrats running, but since they do not have a contested primary and will advance automatically to the November general election, there will not be a forum for them. There will be a fall Candidate’s Night for Hilliard City Council which will have the four Republican and two Democratic candidates answering questions prior to the November general election.
