Installation Instructions: Head Stud Kit 1994-2006 Mitsubishi 4G63 – Straight Studs Part Number: PR7843 Applications: 1994-2006 4G63 2.0 L, including EVO 4 - 9

General Installation 1. Make sure threads are clean and re-tap ONLY if necessary. Use cutting oil when re-tapping. 2. Lubricate all the stud threads with a high quality MOLY assembly lubricant. 3. Coat the studs with a thin coat of engine oil and thread the studs into the block hand tight only then install the cylinder heads and check to ensure all studs are properly aligned with holes in head. 4. Once the head is properly aligned install the washers and nuts. Use MOLY assembly lubricant on top of washers as well as the bottom and threads of the nut. Hand tighten nuts first. 5. Use the diagram below and follow the torque sequence of the head bolts. Torque the nuts to 80 ft/lbs. in three steps (i.e. 20, 45, then 80 ft/lbs. following torque sequence).
