Installation Instructions Part No. 30RA-900---022, 30RA-900---023 SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

INSTALLATION

Installation of this accessory can be hazardous due to electrical components and equipment location (such as a roof or elevated structure). Only trained, qualified installers and service mechanics should install and service this equipment. When installing this accessory, observe precautions in the literature, labels attached to the equipment, and other safety precautions that apply. • Follow all safety codes. • Wear safety glasses and work gloves. • Use care when handling and installing this accessory. ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD To avoid possible electric shock and personal injury, all power to the unit must be disconnected before working on the unit. Tag all disconnects to alert others that the unit is being worked on.

INTRODUCTION The Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter Convenience Outlet (GFI-CO) accessory provides two auxiliary 115 v, 60 Hz outlets for portable computers, lights, small hand tools and other devices. The current output is limited to 4 amps. See Table 1 for specific package applications. Check each item for shipping damage. If any damage is found, file a claim with the shipping agent immediately. If any item is missing or if any part does not assemble properly, notify your Carrier representative. Table 2 lists the contents of the accessory kits. 11. Attach the black wire labeled no. 1 to the L1 connection. Attach the red wire labeled no. 1 to the L2 connection. Attach the black wire labeled no. 2 to either brass screw on the GFI outlet. Attach the white wire labeled no. 2 to either silver screw on the GFI outlet. (See Fig. 3 for GFI-CO wiring.) 12. Attach one end of the 30-in. long ground wire to the green ground screw on the GFI outlet. Secure the other end of the ground wire from the conduit to the TRAN1 ground terminal. 13. Ensure that all electrical connections are tight and restore power to the unit. 14. Test the GFI-CO by pressing its “Test” button and checking for power at the outlet. If the accessory is incorrectly wired, the GFI-CO may not trip and power may be present at the outlet. If power is present, disconnect all power to the unit, correct the accessory wiring, reconnect the unit power and retest the outlet. 15. When the GFI-CO trips and no power is present at the outlet, restore the circuit by pressing the “Reset” button on the GFI-CO. 16. Remove tags from disconnects and close the control box door. NOTE: After the GFI-CO is installed, periodically test the ground fault feature as described in preceding Steps 14 and 15.

6. Primary and secondary fuses are supplied with each package. A single secondary fuse (FNM-6) should be installed. Install the primary fuses as shown below according to the main power supply of the chiller in the fuse holder clips: Use fuses FNQ-R-21/2 for 460 V and 575 V units Use fuses FNQ-R-31/2 for 208/230 V and 230 V units NOTE: Rejection type fuses are installed one way only. Make sure they are secure in the fuse holder clips. 7. Using the screws provided, install the cover on the transformer box. 8. Route the other end of the conduit away from fan and refrigerant piping to back of control box. Remove knockout in control box below Main Base Board (MBB) and above row of condenser fan, heater and pump contactors. 9. Attach conduit to back of control box. 10. Install power connector from kit (3RV19155A) on top of a condenser fan or pump manual starter that has only 1 bus bar connection. Do NOT install or disturb the wiring to the cooler/pump heater circuit breaker (MS-CHC-L3) connection. If the MS-CHC circuit breaker is the only available point of connection, crimp the no. 8 spade terminals provided on the no. 1 labeled black and red wires.
