Interested in Being a Host Home for our 2017 Discipleship Weekend? Dear Ridgecrest Member: Thank you SO much for being a Host Home for our 2017 DNOW weekend, March 31-April 2. We hope the info below equips you to know if God is opening your heart to open your home for this important student ministry event.

What is Disciple Now? Disciple Now is a weekend retreat where students (7th-12th grade) gather at the church for worship and preaching, connect with their peers, and meet in small discipleship groups in homes of church members. The studies are led by adult leaders with the goal of beginning and strengthening the ongoing process of discipleship in each student’s life. This Year’s Theme: “Supremacy” Our Weekend Speaker and In-Home Small Group Leaders will help our students understand what it is that makes Christianity unique and what difference those beliefs should make in our lives! Host Home Responsibilities and Things to Know 1. Host Homes play a vital role by providing a place for students to call “home” for the weekend

and helping create an environment for discipling students. You’ll receive a weekend schedule and are invited to join us for any of the large group activities you can make. 2. Weekend participants will be placed in small groups by age and gender. The size of your group will depend on the number of participants and host homes but will be typically between 4 and 10 students. Students bring sleeping bags and such and will sleep anywhere and everywhere you tell them they can. After you let us know you’re interested in hosting, we’ll contact you to help you figure out what age, gender, and size of group will be a good fit for your home. 3. One or two adult Small Group Leaders for the weekend will also be assigned to your house and will take the lead on helping the students at your house behave, have fun, stick to the weekend schedule and experience the Lord together. 4. We believe teenagers need Christian adults in their lives! We hope you’ll see this weekend not just as an opportunity to share your home, but to share of your life as well. Interact with the students. Ask them questions about their lives, families, hobbies, spiritual journey, etc. 5. Students will arrive at your house late Friday evening, come-and-go on Saturday, and be gone for good when they leave for church Sunday morning. 6. When your group arrives at your home Friday evening they will bring a basket containing items for Saturday morning breakfast at your home and snacks for the weekend. We ask you to be responsible for drinks for the weekend. (If you need more of anything, let us know and we’ll help you get it.) 7. We will also need help this weekend shuttling students from church to your house. While it is not mandatory that host homes help with transportation, sometimes it works out perfectly. Let us know if you can also help us with transportation. I Think I’m Interested in Being a Host Home This Year. What Now? Let us know as soon as you can if you are interested by emailing our Student Ministry Assistant Pam Gaunt at [email protected]. If you have some questions you’d like to ask first, email Pat Findley our Next Gen/Student Pastor at [email protected] or by calling 417-887-2317 Ext.273 or contact Nic Goodin, Student Min. Associate at [email protected] or 417-885-5232. Student Ministry is impossible without help from adults like you. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of helping us with DNOW 2017!
