Interfaith  Relations     IR  Programs  Manager     Part-­‐time,  Temporary     $10/hr  ,  No  Benefits     No   1/7/13-­‐5/15/13  

Work  with  the  Interfaith  Relations  department  on  the  promotion  and  public  awareness  of  all  programs.   Specifically,  to  maximize  online  content,  marketing  materials,  and  social  media  promotion  of  IR  programs   with  special  attention  the  iLead  youth  program.  The  intern  will  be  required  to  attend  planning  meetings   and/or  events  that  are  related  to  the  program  areas  he/she  is  promoting  when  it  does  not  conflict  with   scheduled  classes  or  other  work  duties.         SPECIFIC  RESPONSIBILITIES     Interfaith  Relations  Department     1. Create  and  execute  a  robust  schedule  for  marketing  IR  programs  via  social  media,  Constant  Contact,  IM   website,  and  email.  This  includes  adult  dinner  dialogues,  women’s  programs  and  youth  programs.   2. Assist  IR  staff  in  training  iLead  students  to  maximize  social  media  for  promoting  ideas,  programs,  and   events.  This  will  include  development  of  a  schedule  for  students  to  market  iLead  program  and  service   project  throughout  the  school  year  to  peers  and  faith  communities.     3. Assist  IR  Programs  Manager  with  the  preparation  and  facilitation  of  all  iLead  youth  leadership  meetings,   travel,  and  activities.     4. Assist  IR  Programs  Manager  with  relationship  building  with  iLead  youth  leadership  participants  which   will  include  communication  via  phone,  Facebook,  email,  and  other  forms  of  social  media  determined  by   IM  staff  members.  This  may  also  include  duties  such  as  going  to  the  students’  schools  to  enhance   relationships,  networks,  and/or  media  projects  through  school  related  activities  (plays,  sports,  band,   etc).  All  after  hours  work  will  be  considered  work  hours  towards  internship  requirements.   5. Create  logos,  flyers,  and  web-­‐based  content  for  programs  on  an  as-­‐needed  basis.     6. Assist  the  department  staff  in  event  logistics  and  setup.  This  includes  but  is  not  limited  to  website  event   creation  and  setup.       QUALIFICATIONS   1. High  school  diploma  or  equivalent  with  at  least  two  years  of  college  work  required.   2. Experience  recording,  interviewing  and  setting  up  short  interview  style  videos  for  individuals  and  small   groups.  Ability  to  coach/direct  teens  and  adults  in  multi-­‐media  projects.     3. Must  be  computer  literate,  including  proficiency  with  photo/video  editing  software  and  social  media   sites.  Intermediate  to  advanced  knowledge  of  Microsoft  Office  (Word,  PowerPoint,  and  Excel)  required.   Knowledge  of  Microsoft  Outlook  beneficial,  but  not  required.     Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston 3217 Montrose Blvd. Houston, Texas 77006 – Ph: 713-533-4900 – Fax: 713-520-4663 Revision Date: August 15, 2012

4. Pleasant  personality  and  excellent  written  and  verbal  communication  skills  with  an  ability  to  work  with   individuals  from  diverse  cultural  backgrounds.    A  strong  background  or  interest  in  interfaith  relations   preferred.   5. Must  have  working  knowledge  and  reputable  online  social  presence  with  such  entities  such  as  Facebook,   Instagram,  Twitter,  YouTube,  Kleek  ,Viddy,  etc.     6. Detail  oriented  and  exceptional  organizational  skills  highly  preferred.   7. Reliable  transportation,  valid  driver’s  license  and  automobile  liability  insurance  as  required  by  law.   8. Availability  to  work  after  regular  business  hours  on  as  needed  basis.         COGNITIVE  &  PHYSICAL  DEMANDS     1. COMPILING  -­‐  Gathering,  collating,  or  classifying  information  about  data.  Reporting  and/or  carrying  out  a   prescribed  action  in  relation  to  the  evaluation  is  sometimes  involved.   2.
