INTERNSHIP APPLICATION www.njati.org Application Deadline: May 1, 2014 For over three decades, The New Jersey Artist/Teacher Institute (aTi) has welcomed classroom teachers, art teachers, administrators, student teachers and artists to be immersed in a variety of art forms including book arts, music, printmaking, , painting, poetry and dance. Led by professional arts instructors, aTi participants break through barriers to creative teaching and learning and connect with a community of peers emerging refreshed, renewed, energized and inspired. aTi Internship Description Be an active program assistant to internationally renowned master teaching artists and experience career applications in arts and education. Co-sponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and now in its 38th season, The Artist/Teacher Institute (aTi) is of the nation’s most prestigious programs that provides classroom teachers, administrators, students and artists with in-depth, hands-on experiences in a variety of art forms that encourage professional growth and discovery. By expanding their creativity, participants learn new skills to integrate arts into their curriculum and professional practice while connecting with a community of peers. Led by professional arts instructors who are master teaching artists, aTi workshops include book arts, songwriting, printmaking, creative writing, painting, digital photography, graphic design, ceramics, and poetry. Benefits  Practical arts administration, teaching artist and arts educator experience.  NJ Professional Development Credits and Internship Credits available.  You are an essential part of the aTi program.  Meals are included. If you intern at Stockton College, additional meals/lodging are provided.  Stipend available. Primary Responsibilities  Support and assist aTi program staff, instructors and participants in all areas of program as needed including administrative and clerical duties; moving and lifting supplies and equipment; organizing and laying out supplies for daily classroom set up; and set-up/clean-up.  Assist with program documentation/evaluation as a liaison between aTi program staff, workshop instructors and participants.  Take photographs and video to capture the essence of the aTi program for future web use, grant funding reporting, and marketing.  Other duties as assigned.  Applicant must have own form of transportation, public or private. Interest in the arts and teaching Computer skills in MS Office, social networking, graphics and video/editing programs Ability to follow directions and work with program staff, instructors, and up to 75 participants. Teamwork and collaboration skills

Commitment and Duration Depending on the location of your internship, aTi-William Paterson or aTi-Stockton, you must be present every day for the duration of the program.
