Come to the Connection Point after the service to learn more about Calvary’s opportunities for Christmas giving. There are ways for all ages to get involved through shopping, volunteering, and praying for several local ministries.

jerusalem project - church strengthening The Jerusalem Project Steering Committee, formed in early 2018, is tasked with helping Calvary Church be more intentional and systematic in planting new churches, strengthening existing churches, and training residents for ministry. Today in our service we are highlighting the church strengthening piece of this project. Calvary has a rich history of coming alongside churches to help encourage them in many different situations. We have provided mentoring to new pastors, we have filled the pulpit when area churches were without pastors for a season, we have mentored several churches starting special needs ministries and provided our children’s ministry curriculum to smaller churches just getting started. We have also helped in financial ways: by giving love gifts to churches who are struggling financially or who have a leaky roof. Many of our short-term mission trips over the years have had an element of church strengthening as well, providing encouragement to nationals serving their congregations. Our hope is that you would prayerfully consider how God might want you to be involved in giving to the Jerusalem Project as we continue to serve, equip and build his church in West Michigan and around the world. Give online at mycalvarygr.org, text your $ amount and “JER” to 616-294-0700, or use the giving envelope next to your seat. Thank you.

pray for the persecuted church Millions of Christians around the world are persecuted for their faith daily. From Pakistan to Kazakhstan, Nigeria to North Korea, Christians routinely face discrimination, harassment, violence and even death for their faith in Jesus. Their suffering is unimaginable. Hebrews 13:3 commands Christians to pray for those suffering as if they themselves were suffering. Today is the Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. We ask you to join us to pray for our brothers and sisters around the world who are oppressed for following Christ. We also invite you to join us on Nov. 25 to pray for the persecuted church. Every Sunday (with the exception of December), a prayer group will meet in room 115 from 10:15-10:40am to pray for the persecuted church. To sign up, go to mycalvarygr.org – serving – prayer teams. May the global church be strengthened as we pray for our fellow believers.
