church strengthening

congregational care

The church strengthening division of the Jerusalem Project comes alongside churches to encourage and support church leaders. This encompasses everything from facilitating regional prayer meetings for pastors, to our elders advising and helping another elder board, to Calvary staff and volunteers providing training in an area where they have expertise.

RECENTLY HOSPITALIZED PRAYER LIST

Important News: The Jerusalem Project has partnered with the Greek Evangelical Church of Glyfada and Trinity Church in Oxford, England to bring pastors to Calvary this summer for training, encouragement and to help us develop greater opportunities for partnership. We will be hosting Charis & Frinta, and Nikos from Greece, and James & Emma Leverton from England. Take Action: This Sunday, sign up to be involved with one or more of our visiting International friends by coming to the Connection Point. We have identified individuals to coordinate care for their visit, but they would love to involve you in helping them feel welcome by providing them with a meal, taking them to a White Caps game or hosting a game night in your home. There are people at the Connection Point to answer any questions you may have and of course there will be a sign-up sheet if you would like to come alongside an international pastoral couple this summer! Commissioning Global Workers Last week, Calvary commissioned Katherine to serve as a global worker in West Africa. This week, we are sending out Jakob and Kate Jackson to serve in Zambia. To pray for both of their needs while they are on the field, pick up a copy of the monthly prayer newsletter for our global workers at the Chapel Information Center. Partner with our Tanzania Team Please consider partnering with our Tanzania team by funding them today. Go to mycalvarygr.org, Mission Trip Giving, Tanzania Spring 2019, Team Support and enter the amount you feel comfortable giving. Your funding will send our Calvary team to teach at the Bible College and spend precious time with the woman and teens who are looking forward to all that cloth you helped sew! Support Student Mission Trip Participant We have 75 middle and high school students going on mission trips this summer. Each student is responsible to raise support to go on these trips. If you would like to help offset the costs, you can do so by making a donation to our Student Mission Fund; specify the fund on the memo line of your check or your giving envelope. You may also text-to-give by entering your giving amount followed by the code “STUDENTS” (e.g. 50 STUDENTS) to 616-294-0700.

THANK YOU A special thank you for the floral arrangement in memory of our father and grandfather’s homegoing on March 31. It was a sweet reminder of the love and care we have through our church family. We thank you too for your prayers on our family’s behalf as we made preparations and for safety in our travels.
