† Morning Worship Service †

† Anthem Text †

10:50 a.m.

My Eternal King My God, I love Thee; not because I hope for heaven thereby, nor yet because who love Thee not must die eternally. Thou, O my Jesus, Thou didst me upon the cross embrace; for me didst bear the nails, the nails and spear, and manifold disgrace. Why, then why, O blessed Jesus Christ, should I not love Thee well? Not for the hope of winning heaven or of escaping hell; not with the hope of gaining aught, not seeking a reward; but as Thyself hast loved me, O everloving Lord! E’en so I love Thee, and will love, and in Thy praise will sing; solely because Thou art my God, and my Eternal King.

† Missions Moment † As Rev. Lorenzo Ortiz, pastor of Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel in Laredo, tries to coordinate assistance to the daily 200 deportees from the U.S. to Nuevo Laredo just across the border, he came upon a need he wasn’t thinking of. While being held in detention centers, the people have to relinquish their belts and shoelaces. After being bused to the border crossing and then walked to the Mexican processing office, they sit waiting to either be released in the city or be bused to another area of Mexico. Have you ever tried to walk with shoes and no laces? They usually flop around and make it difficult even to walk. As we were sharing some bags of snacks with them, they began to ask about shoelaces. Pastor Ortiz decided to go pick some up at one of the local churches he has been partnering with. When he returned with the shoelaces, everyone flocked to him and requested some. They immediately began lacing their shoes. Now at least one worry was checked off their mental lists. Please continue to pray for the immigration and border situation. Pray for those like Pastor Ortiz who are trying to show the love of Christ to so many people who are searching for hope. Butch and Nell Green, CBF field personnel in Houston, Texas

If you would like to participate in this group from home via video conferencing, please let the church office know. CLOTHES CLOSET: Our Clothes Closet needs additional volunteers on Tuesday mornings to help sort and process the huge amount of donations we receive each week. If you are available between the hours of 9:30 and noon (even an hour is helpful!) on Tuesdays, please consider helping in the Clothes Closet. Whether you can come once or each week, we would appreciate your help. THE BARNABAS GROUP TEA: Mona Carpenter will host a "Tea" in her home on Saturday, January 26, 2:00-4:00. This will be a relaxing time of coffee, tea, cookies, sandwiches, and getting to know each other better. Sign up on the bulletin board and bring an appetizer or dessert to share. All those 55+ are welcome! FACEBOOK LIVE: We invite you to connect with us, even if you can’t be here on Sunday morning. You can watch our services, LIVE, on our Facebook page, First Baptist Church at the Singing Bridge, each Sunday. There is also a link to our Facebook page on our website, fbcfrankfort.org.

† Announcements † “SOUPER” BOWL: Mark your calendar for February 3, 6:00 pm. We will meet for food and fellowship while we watch a little football and a lot of commercials, and we’ll have inflatables for the kids. Sign up on the bulletin board to enter our 10th Annual Chili/Soup Contest and vie for the coveted green jacket! The church will provide chicken and drinks but you are welcome to bring sides and desserts to share. Cost of admission is canned goods for our local food pantry. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: First Baptist Church has been wonderful in praying for our new youth minister, Marcus Pernell, and our Youth Transition Team, chaired by Karen Rhorer. Now the youth need your involvement with them during their Bible studies and activities. If you would be willing to hear more about our youth program and how you might be involved (whether it is with Sunday School, Wednesday night worship, a small group, or a youth event), please contact Marcus or Karen. It takes our entire church to “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. Thank you for being a church that supports all our generations!
