This film tells the story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents over three decades. The film traces the dramatic changes that swept American society during this time, from the civil rights movement to Vietnam and beyond, and how those changes affected this man’s life and family.

Come out for an afternoon of praise and worship as the Women and Men Usher ministry celebrate. Royal Priesthood will render a concert along with our liturgical dancers. Be blessed with poetry by Deacon Al Hall. We look to have a “High Time in the Lord.” The ushers at Alfred Street Baptist Church serve at all services and they do an awesome job! Their primary task is to assist worshippers in finding seats. They are trying their best to serve you. This is a fantastic opportunity to network, gather resources and obtain scholarship information from “Historically Black Colleges and Universities.” Students may begin signing up online to attend. Health & Wellness Ministry 2014 Medical Recruitment - We are in need of medical personnel to join our ministry. Can I Get a Witness? - Saturday, February 15, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. This class, conducted by the J&P Ministry, is an overview of witnessing. This is an introductory class open to all disciples. The ASBC GriefShare Ministry has begun the winter/spring Wednesday sessions that meet at 6:30 p.m. GriefShare is a support group designed to help those grieving the passing of a loved one move from mourning to joy. Our Guest Choir - Saturday 6:00 p.m. Worship Service

The Largo High School Choir The Largo High School Choir, located in Prince George’s County, Maryland is composed of approximately 75 members in grades 9-12. This outstanding choir has performed for various schools, churches, and community functions in Prince George’s County and beyond. They are best known for their stunning performances of gospel music; however the choir also performs musical styles that range from classical, jazz, and blues to pop. Their very talented first year director, Brandon Felder, is also a member of Alfred Street’s own music staff.

ASBC Leadership Operational Session in the sanctuary The Leadership Institute’s specialized operational training is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29 from 7:00 – 9:45 p.m., and Saturday, February 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Please choose one training to attend. The specialized operational training is mandatory for all deacons, directors and presidents of ministry groups and discipleship groups with budgets. All other ministry and discipleship group officers are encouraged to attend.
