A Hymn to God the Father Wilt Thou forgive that sin where I begun, which is my sin though it were done before? Wilt Thou forgive that sin through which I run, and do still run, though still I do deplore? When Thou hast done, Thou hast not done, for I have more. Wilt Thou forgive that sin which I have won others to sin, and made my sin their door? Wilt Thou forgive that sin which I did shun a year or two, but wallowed in a score? When Thou hast done, hast done, Thou hast not done, for I have more. I have a sin of fear that when I’ve spun My last thread, I shall perish on the shore; swear by Thyself, that at my death Thy Son shall shine as He shines now and heretofore; and having done that, Thou hast done, I fear no more.

SCHOOL FOR DISCIPLESHIP: Join us for our first School for Discipleship day in 2019, “Helps for Praying with C.S. Lewis and Others”. Dr. Wallace Williams will draw on his vast teaching experience and his study of prayer and the writings of C.S. Lewis and others as he leads us to consider how we can deepen our understanding and practice of prayer. Dr. Williams will reference C.S. Lewis writings such as Letters to Malcolm on Prayer, Mere Christianity and The Efficacy of Prayer. The session will include time for prayer experiences and small group reflection. The class will be held Saturday, February 9, 9:00 amnoon, and a continental breakfast will be available beginning at 8:45 a.m. Sign up on the bulletin board or call the church office to register.

Through the Missions portion of our FBC budget, we give $100 a month ($1200 a year) to the BACKPACK SNACKS OF FRANKFORT/FRANKLIN COUNTY. They rely completely on donations from the community to provide weekend meals for hungry students. They use 100% of the donations to buy food for these students. This past semester they sent home

2,363 weekend meal bags with students. That is an increase of 589 bags over the previous year. The number of students needing help has been rising steadily throughout the year. They will begin the new semester helping 229 students with food for the weekend.

CLOTHES CLOSET: Our Clothes Closet needs additional volunteers on Tuesday mornings to help sort and process the huge amount of donations we receive each week. If you are available between the hours of 9:30 and noon (even an hour is helpful!) on Tuesdays, please consider helping in the Clothes Closet. Whether you can come once or each week, we would appreciate your help. FACEBOOK LIVE: We invite you to connect with us, even if you can’t be here on Sunday morning. You can watch our services, LIVE, on our Facebook page, First Baptist Church at the Singing Bridge, each Sunday. There is also a link to our Facebook page on our website, fbcfrankfort.org. “SOUPER” BOWL: Next Sunday, February 3, 6:00 pm., we will meet for food and fellowship while we watch a little football and a lot of commercials, and we’ll have inflatables for the kids. Sign up on the bulletin board to enter our 10th Annual Chili/Soup Contest and vie for the coveted green jacket! The church will provide chicken and drinks but you are welcome to bring sides and desserts to share. Cost of admission is canned goods for our local food pantry. ARTWORK: Our 3rd – 5th graders recently created beautiful artwork to help beautify the Clothes Closet hallway. Please stop by the fourth floor to see their hard work.

† Announcements † VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: First Baptist Church has been wonderful in praying for our new youth minister, Marcus Pernell, and our Youth Transition Team, chaired by Karen Rhorer. Now the youth need your involvement with them during their Bible studies and activities. If you would be willing to hear more about our youth program and how you might be involved (whether it is with Sunday School, Wednesday night worship, a small group, or a youth event), please contact Marcus or Karen. It takes our entire church to “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. Thank you for being a church that supports all our generations! ROMEOS UPDATE: The ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) have decided to meet every Thursday, 9:00 am, at Tammy’s Diner. If you would like to join the ROMEOs but need help with transportation, please contact the church office or Tony Sholar by Wednesday of each week.
