Hugs and Handshakes: Serving Lionheart Children’s Academy - Be a part of launching a new collaborative ministry between FBC Plano and Lionheart Children’s Academy called Hugs and Handshakes. We are looking for members of FBC Plano to volunteer 1-2 hours a month or every other month to serve the children and the families at Lionheart. To be a part of this new ministry, please leave your name on the interest board located in the breezeway. Ordination Service and Special Called Business Meeting - An Ordination Service will be held on Sunday, January 27, at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Childcare will be provided. This service will begin as a Special Called Business Meeting. The agenda items for the Special Called Business Meeting will be: 1) Voting on the recommendation from the Ordaining Council pertaining to the ordination of Jeff Howard and Rachel Jones; 2) Voting on the recommendation from the Pastor and Deacon Council to confirm the license of Paul Torres to the Gospel ministry. At the conclusion of the Special Called Business Meeting, we will move into the Ordination Service. We will also ordain First Baptist Plano’s newly elected Deacons: William (Bill) Angell, Diane Bofferding, Chris Bryant, Anne Donaldson, Pam Ownby, Don Snowden, Julie Spitzenberger, and Marc Spitzenberger. You are invited to enjoy a time of reception and refreshments immediately following the service.

FEB. 3 - No Sunday evening Activities CHILDREN’S MINISTRY Thank you for your help in Extended Teaching Care (ETC) TODAY Traditional – Megan Schuler Contemporary – Glen Funderburk, Bettie Funderburk and Linda Madon. Parent Connection – Ever wish you could just sit and visit with other parents about issues related to raising kids? We will begin a parent connection time to discuss common parenting issues from a biblical perspective. We will meet in the West Welcome Center at 4:15 p.m. on Sundays (during AWANA) starting February 10. Kids’ New Believer Class – This 8-week course will take place during our Sunday School time (10:05 a.m.). Contact the Children’s Ministry Office to register. Classes will be February 24 – April 14.

Spring 2019 Valley Mission Trip - This Spring's trip to the South Texas Valley will be March 2-8. This is a construction focused trip. If you have questions or are interested in joining the team, please contact Mike Oliver at 972-467-2468. Deadline to join the team is Sunday, February 10. Feeding the Hungry... in our neighborhood - On the first Sunday of each month, FBC Plano collects donations for Willowcreek Food Pantry in East Plano and for the FBC Plano Food Pantry. Collection barrels are located in the West Welcome Center and Berry Building. NEXT Sunday, February 3, is a collection Sunday. Suggested items to donate: boxes of macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, canned beans, canned soups, canned chili, and canned tuna. It’s Time for Some Hockey (55+) - Make plans to join us on Friday, February 22, for an exciting evening of fights… and perhaps a little hockey between the Allen Americans and Utah Grizzlies. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.; come early to enjoy the whole hockey experience. The cost is $24/person and includes a wonderful meal of a hotdog, chips and a drink. There is free parking across from the Allen Event Center. Sign up and pay in the church office. All monies are due by Sunday, February 10; paid tickets available for pick up in the church office beginning Wednesday, February 13.

STUDENT MINISTRY DNOW {Disciple Now} Friday, February 15 - Sunday, February 17 - There will be a host home meeting on Wednesday, February 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. A KickOff Meeting will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13 in the Foundry. Beach Camp 2019! - Our student ministry is going to Beach Camp this Summer in Myrtle Beach! Mark your calendars for June 16 - 22. The cost for camp is $600 if you sign up by February 20 and pay $100 deposit; the price will go up to $675 beginning February 21. Be sure to sign up soon! Student Beach Camp Fundraiser - Sponsor A Mile! We are hoping to raise money for our travel to camp. If you sponsor a mile or a few miles at $5 a mile it would go a great way in helping lower the cost of camp. If you sponsor ten miles ($50), the students will listen to a song of your choice on the bus; sponsor 150 miles ($750), the students will watch a movie of your choice while traveling!
