Senior Commercial Analyst Fulltime, ongoing Perth, Western Australia Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, English language training and settlement services, creative media education, workforce education and student recruitment. The Senior Commercial Analyst will provide analytical, planning and general support to the Group Manager Business Development. The Senior Commercial Analyst will also be responsible for analysis of key markets & key competitors, and will provide support in relevant areas of business development and strategy. Selection Criteria Essential Skills and experience  3-4 years of experience in consulting, strategic market research and industry analysis or equivalent combined with relevant tertiary qualifications.  Strong research skills, characterised by the ability to design, guide and execute research projects and provide senior managers with recommendations.  Detailed-orientation and excellent analytical skills that include the ability to assess granular as well as big picture issues.  Capacity to engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.  Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise own work to meet deadlines.  Capability to work independently and collaboratively with senior managers to develop compelling recommendations.  Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.  High-level presentation, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Desirable  Experience working within one or more of the Navitas Divisions.  Sector specialisation: Experience in the higher education sector. Overview and Objectives of the Position:

Provide analytical, planning and general support to the Group Manager Business Development. The Senior Commercial Analyst will be responsible for analysis of key markets & key competitors, and will provide support in relevant areas of business development and strategy.

Key Result Areas:

Market and competitor analysis The advancement of strategic insights by undertaking competitor and market analysis (political, environmental, social, technological, legal, economic) carried out in pursuit of a predetermined set of research goals. i.

Undertakes market and competitor research with a view to assessing company performance against the market and key competitors; collates and analyses information from secondary sources where direct sources are not available, making informed conclusions

ii.

Undertakes assessment of the operating environment of relevant markets both current and projected

iii.

Conducts internal performance benchmarking, identifying areas of best practice and weakness

iv.

Where necessary, designs and continually reviews data collection tools, frameworks and techniques for both qualitative and quantitative data

v.

Presents recommendations at stakeholder meetings, writes reports of publication quality, and presents reports to internal stakeholders

Business Development and Strategy i.

Collates tender documents for new colleges, assists the Group Manager, Business Development in the implementation of new colleges where required

ii.

Assists the Group Manager, Business Development in the ongoing roll-out of the Balance Scorecard strategic planning process where required

Consultancy The provision of advice and recommendations, based on insights and experience, to address internal stakeholder needs. The scope of recommendations can range from one specific business unit, or can be wide ranging and address group-wide strategic commercial issues. May also include support for the implementation of any agreed solutions. i.

Consistently provide insights on the business implications of the research and analysis

ii.

Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required.

iii.

Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements.

iv.

Seeks to fully address needs of internal stakeholders, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of team members and internal stakeholders, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.

Stakeholder relationship management The provision of advice and recommendations, based on research findings and experience, to address needs of internal stakeholders. May also include support for the implementation of any agreed solutions. i.

Working with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts to capture inputs using various methods, including but not limited to interviews, document review, requirements workshops, site visits and teleconferences.

ii.

Collect feedback from stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management and help to propose ways to enhance to stakeholder relationships.

iii.

Support the execution of communication strategies, including the handling of issues being raised and managing resolutions.

Contributes to the professional standing of Navitas Business Development as a centre of excellence i.

Providing analytical excellence and support function for projects.

ii.

Developing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, other divisions and third parties and liaising closely with them.

iii.

Dealing promptly and effectively with staff, other divisions and third parties on project related matters in so far as it relates to this role.

iv.

Appropriate application of logical frameworks and evidenced-based approaches to provide compelling recommendations

Contributes to the maintenance of a safe working environment within their area of operations i.

Maintain local workplaces that are safe and without risk to health.

ii.

Ensuring relevant occupational health and safety regulations are complied with at local workplaces.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria
