JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Work Study – Shepherd’s Gate Counseling Center REPORTS TO: Director of Shepherd’s Gate GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Weekly hours are dependent on Federal Work Study funding available each year. Estimated 10 hours/week position. The work-study position is responsible for managing the front desk volunteer staff, and overall basic support duties within the clinic. Serve as administrative support to student counselors as needed. Participate in training practicum class each semester. Communicate regularly with the Clinic Assistants and the Clinical Training Director. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional lifting up to 20 pounds up to waist height. Requires eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity for computer-related duties, and the ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Requires the use of office equipment, such as a computer and keyboard, telephone and copiers. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (this may not all be necessary; nor inclusive)  Train and oversee font desk volunteer staff  Draft, format, produce or reproduce letters and documents  Organize and maintain student workroom and resources  Help oversee overall clinic upkeep  Must be able to maintain confidential information  General filing duties  Replicating tasks  Special projects as assigned  Attend clinic staff meetings as scheduled EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Must be a Seminary MA Counseling (Licensure) student and who has a good understanding of the program requirements for Counseling (Licensure) students.  Understands the importance of client confidentiality and can keep information confidential.  Experience with administrative tasks is preferred.  Successful completion of Practicum is preferred, but not required. QUALIFICATIONS:  Professional telephone and correspondence skills.  A mature person of integrity and is confident and professional when working with other students, professionals and the public.  Is self-motivated, takes initiative and yet works well under authority.  Punctual and reliable

Computer literate with Microsoft Office and Outlook programs; proficient in using the internet.

OUTCOMES:  Client files will be well managed and kept confidential.  Clinic documents and resources will be kept stocked and in order.  Counseling sessions will be accurately scheduled and recorded daily.
