Purpose of Job:

Procurement is one of the key areas within the Company. The role of the Purchasing Supervisor is to ensure that purchasing and expediting of materials is in an efficient, effective and professional manner in accordance with the Company’s procedures.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Purchasing • Ensure purchase orders are authorised in accordance with the financial authority schedule. • Develop plans to maximise profitability through supplier pricing. • Expedite to ensure purchase orders are received within agreed timescales. • Manage supplier performance and address issues of underperformance. • Determine most appropriate supplier selection • Ensure that Hydrasun maintains it’s supply chain process in order to achieve our “value for money” objective with our customers • Ensure that Hydrasun stock profile is maintained and special purchase items are received in the agreed timeframe Department Management • Manage direct and indirect purchasing personnel on a group basis including performance reviews, objective setting, identification of training and development needs, compliance and disciplinary and grievance issues in line with company procedures. • Achieve department performance targets. • Instigate training as appropriate. • Ensure that all staff in the department are provided with product, process and purchasing skills in order to deliver the highest standard of procurement • Ensure that work is stored, delivered and all tasks completed through processes which are capable, clearly specified and consistently controlled in conjunction with the company’s Quality procedures, BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and Customer specifications • Ensure that work activities are executed in accordance with the Company’s Safety Management System and where applicable the customer’s site rules. • Participating and assisting with internal and external audits and budget processes. • Adopting and promoting good working practices ensuring compliance with the Company’s Safety management System and Quality Management System • To actively take part in the Competency Assurance Process. • To comply with the Human Resource Management systems and procedures • •

Minimum of 5 years experience in a purchasing supervisory role. Purchasing experience Skills/Training Competences:

Essential

Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior purchasing supervisory or management role.

Desirable

Experience with Hose, Hydraulics or Instrumentation experience. Commercially aware. Ability to analyse and assess situations under time pressure.
