Dependable, enthusiastic, organized, relates well to children, friendly and comfortable talking to parents, able to manage classroom activities with up to 25 children, able to work well with other volunteers Minimum of two Sunday mornings each month during the 9:15 or 11 a.m. services (approximately 2 hours each Sunday) Kid Nation Kick Off Sunday (August/September) through May Background Check (Adults only) Ministry Safe Online Training Course Floris UMC Child Protection Policy Annual Kid Nation Training Session  Read provided lesson plans and communication from Children’s Ministries Staff.  Report to the classroom location at 8:45 or 10:30 a.m. with a positive attitude.  Follow volunteer check-in procedures and wear nametag.  Greet/welcome children to classrooms and record attendance.  Follow proper check-in and check-out procedures.  Oversee and administer prepared classroom activities per the given lesson plan and supplies. Engage children in learning, encourage/assist children to participate in activities.  Supervise and manage children to maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment at all times. Follow safety procedures.  Pray with and for the children.  Keep classrooms and supplies clean, orderly, and organized.  Work with class team to develop a schedule and regularly communicate with class team in the event of any changes. Obtain a substitute teacher from the approved list for all absences that cannot be covered by a class team member.  Guide and encourage student volunteers (SIMs) assigned to the classroom.

Dependable, enthusiastic, friendly with sincere and warm hospitality skills, excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable talking to parents and relating to children, good computer skills, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, able to guide visitors to areas in the church and answer questions about programs and events. Minimum of two Sunday mornings each month prior to the 9:15 or 11 a.m. services (approximately 2 hours a month) Kid Nation Kick Off Sunday (August/September) through May Note: Additional opportunities available June-August for summer Kid Nation.
