Dear Neighbour, Network Rail works on behalf of Crossrail Network Rail is undertaking works in your area on behalf of Crossrail, the new railway linking Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east, via new tunnels under central London. In the next few weeks we will be carrying out works on the remaining steel overhead line equipment structures as part of the Old Oak Common to Paddington Approach scheme, which will involve erecting structures and attaching wires. The work will take place between Westbourne Park Underground Station and Hampden Street footbridge. These works will be undertaken during the day where possible, but will run into night time hours. We will also be carrying out ground investigation works at these locations on Saturday 29 November between 00:00 and 08:00 Sunday morning. The works involve using a small rig to sink boreholes and is a form of drive sampling. In the week commencing 15 November operatives will be completing the wire transfers and using small hand tools to attach bolts & screws. This work is being carried out during engineering hours on Saturday and Sunday, and is expected to cause minimal disturbance. Snagging works will be carried out Monday to Friday, again during engineering hours of 23:00hrs until 06:00hrs during the week and 23:00hrs until 08:00hrs on the weekend. Additionally, on the 16 November between 07:00hrs and 19:00hrs we will be breaking out the old concrete bases of the redundant overhead line equipment structures. These works will be very noisy. While the levels of disruption will vary, there will be periods of intense activity. We understand that some of these works may cause disruption for neighbours in the vicinity. However, we will use appropriate methods to minimise any environmental impacts in accordance with the Crossrail Construction Code and briefings will be provided to those working on site about the need be considerate to our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum wherever possible. If you have any queries please call our dedicated 24-hour National Helpline on 08457 11 41 41 or email [email protected].
