WHO WE ARE

DENIM JEANS COLLECTION — All April The Families of Faith Christ Care Group is teaming up with Sole Hope to collect used denim jeans. These jeans can be old jean or purchased from thrift stores but they must be denim. Our mission is to use these jeans to make cut outs for shoes for children in Uganda. Children in Uganda need our help because they are suffering from sand fleas that burrow into their feet and lay eggs which cause painful blisters to form on their feet. The purpose of our project is to send in patterns of shoes using the denim jeans. Once the patterns are completed Sole Hope will ship them to Uganda where the shoes will be completed. Having proper footwear for these children will protect them from these painful blisters. We will have a collection bin set up in the lobby for jeans. We appreciate any donations that you could contribute. Thank you — Families of Faith CCG

OUR IDENTITY

United Methodists hold to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith. We value the intellect and modern science, while at the same time look to the Bible as the authoritative guide for faith and practice. As Methodists our passionate faith is advanced by strong convictions. Yet, we also recognize that the world is not always black and white. We are willing to ask questions, to wrestle with difficult issues, and to do so with grace and compassion. At Westlake United Methodist Church, we welcome people of all ages, races, social and economic backgrounds, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Our emphasis has been on personal faith, lived out in the world with direction and purpose.

OUR PURPOSE To live so that others will become disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

OUR VISION

To be people who provide opportunities for community worship, spiritual growth and missionary service.
