A Note from Pastor Phillips: Thank you for coming to worship with us today. If you are a first-time visitor, I would sure like the opportunity to meet you and welcome you personally. Because I believe in a Sovereign God, I don’t believe anything happens by chance. I believe you were brought here today for a purpose. I would love to help you discover that purpose, and to see if there is any way we as a church can bless and minister to you and your family. Please stop by the Resource Center after the service so I can shake your hand. I’d sure count it a privilege. Pastor Harold NO GRIEFSHARE MEETINGS: GriefShare will not meet again until Monday, September 11. Enjoy your summer! BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES are available in the lobby spinning rack for anyone who would like a copy. ADMIN. & BUDGET COMMITTEES will NOT meet in July. ARK ENCOUNTER: We are planning a trip to the Creation Museum in Kentucky October 13 through 16. If you are interested, please add your name to the list at the Information Center. BAPTISM: The next scheduled baptism will be next Sunday, July 9 at 6:00 p.m. If you have any questions about baptism or would like to be baptized, please call the church office. DIRECTORY PICTURE SIGN-UP: We have sign-up sheets available for scheduling photos for the new church directory. To sign up for a photo appointment, please go to the desk closest to the Resource Center. Someone will be available to help you. We will also be setting up a link on our web page to allow you to sign up online for an appointment, if you prefer. THANK YOU: Many thanks go out to everyone who helped with Vacation Bible School last week. We served over 100 children, presented them with the Gospel, and showed them the love of Christ. It was a blast! Many hands make light work, and your willingness to serve our Lord makes my heart sing. Thank you again! All for Him, Sandy Goins

Thank you for joining us today for worship. Your presence was a blessing. If you are interested in learning about church membership, we have a “First Steps” class which meets in room 122 at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday. It’s a great place to start! If there is any way that our church can assist you or your family, please contact the office at 410-378-4476.

We pray that you have been blessed, and have found that coming to Pleasant View Baptist Church is truly . . . like coming home.

On Sunday, July 16, we will be showing slides from their trip during our 6:00 p.m. worship service. Pastor will be sharing how the Lord used the trip to bless and expand His kingdom, and the exciting plans that have come about as a result of the trip. Mark your calendar and don’t miss this blessing!

Ecuador Mission Trip Our team is making final preparations for the upcoming trip to Shell, Ecuador, where they will minister once again at Casa de Fe orphanage. Please keep our team in prayer as they make these preparations, asking the Lord for a safe and productive journey.

Child Abuse Awareness Training On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, beginning at 5:30 p.m., a Child Abuse Awareness Training DVD seminar will be held in the Youth Center’s Junior Church Area. This seminar is mandatory for all Preschool and Church employees, and ANYONE who works with children in any capacity -- Sunday School teachers/helpers, Wednesday night teachers/helpers, nursery workers, Junior Church helpers, VBS workers, Camp counselors, Youth workers, etc. (A child is defined as anyone from birth to 18 years old, unless in the military or married).

We will provide dinner for all who attend the training. All who pass the test will receive a certificate of completion. Child care will be provided for all who attend and register their children for care when RSVPing.

All church members are invited to attend, even if you don’t work directly with children, but please RSVP to [email protected] by July 11, to assure we prepare enough food. If you have questions, please see Bart Thomas, or email [email protected]. Hope to see you there!

Our public servants and first responders are facing more dangerous and uncertain times in their occupations these days. While we watch the news and shake our heads at the senseless acts of those who seemingly care only about making headlines, our men and women are out there on the front lines, putting themselves between us and danger. Please pray for those in our church and church family members who are serving as police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians. To add a name to this prayer list, please call the office so we can support him/her in prayer. Thank you.
