ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED

DAY OF LOVE—September 12, 2015 This will be an ALL church member included event. We will be going out and serving the community as a one day mission project. Everyone will be able to do something to help out, either by cleaning up yards, doing construction, painting or even packing lunches and delivering them to the worksites. If you know of someone in the community or yourself who could use a little assistance, please take an application & have it filled out on what you/they would like done. Applications are required to request a work project. The applications need to be turned in by July 1, 2015 and they will be available in the church office or by contacting Justin or Andrea Dyehouse (812-215-0193). We know this is months ahead but just wanted to make sure everyone knew. This is a day the Hillside Church Family can be out helping our community.

GIBSON COUNTY OUT OF DARKNESS WALK A NOTE FROM THE CHOIR DIRECTOR

SAVE THE DATE!

June just rushed by really fast this year, and we’re working on July! I hope that you enjoyed June’s music! We’d like to say “thank you” to everyone who helped: *Thanks to the children and their parents for making it possible for us to enjoy the children on June 7. They were great! *Thanks to Penny Mason for providing special music on June 14 and to Austin Glover for bringing his music to us on June 21. Upon request, Penny sang “Peace in the Midst of the Storm,” which is one of my favorites, and Austin Glover graciously shared his musical talent with us. Thanks to Zeke and Margaret Beard for introducing us to him! *Thanks to Drew Willis for playing the prelude on June 14. Drew is one of Judi Tate’s piano students, and I hope we can hear him play again soon. *Thanks to Toni Kohlmeyer for singing for us on June 28. It is always a pleasure to hear Toni’s unique voice raise in song! *And thanks to Dolli Neikirk and Mike Watkins for leading the congregational singing during the month and to Nelda Chestnut, Ruth Dyer, and Steve Nixon for providing piano and keyboard accompaniment for our singing. Hillside is truly blessed to have members of our church family who answer the call to help out with the music whenever asked with a smile on their faces! Please express appreciation to them whenever you can! And remember: Worship should be passionate!! We should offer our best to our God and Creator!

GENERAL INFORMATION

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOX MINISTRY STARTING EARLY

If you bring or donate something to the church for an event or for us to just have, please be sure to put your name on it along with if it is for a certain area, event or group. We will have post its & markers available for you to use.

The actual project won’t begin until Sept. 13 but since it is still summer we are putting the request out for children/youth flip-flops for the shoeboxes. We invite you to help fill shoeboxes for the “Operation Christmas Child” project. The final collection date for the filled shoe boxes is Tuesday, Nov.10. Filling a box is easy! Please put your filled boxes on the table in the lobby. There will be a display in the lobby of the “Shoebox Ministry” on Sept. 13 with all the information you will need. If you have any questions, please contact Brenda in the church office at 812-3852910 or [email protected]. There will be containers for donations in the lobby. You may still pack your own shoeboxes and deliver them to church no later than Sunday, Nov. 3. There is also a $7 shipping fee.

We have been receiving items which are just placed on the counters in the kitchen, in the pantry or even in the refrigerator or freezer and we have no idea what to do with it. So with this process it will help all of us so it doesn’t get used for the wrong thing. We appreciate what everyone does and donates. This is a very busy church with lots of missional projects going on along with our regular church events.

Church pantry & kitchen cabinets. New shelving will be placed in the pantry. This will enable us to label the different areas for all of us to put things back where we got it from. This will be so there will be nothing left on the counters. Please be considerate of the groups, such as 2nd Monday Meal, Preschool, Youth, etc., which will be clearly marked, by not using their supplies. It’s not good when they had things accounted for and when they go to use it, it’s not there. There will be a “General Church Use” for anyone to use.

LADIES DON’T MISS THIS WOMEN’S EVENT! Tickets are now on sale for the Fresh Grounded Faith event featuring best-selling authors Jennifer Rothschild and Ann Voskamp with worship led by Dove award-winner Meredith Andrews. Join us for this uplifting event November 13th and 14th at First Christian Church in Newburgh. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Susan Carey (s.carey@hillsidprinceton. org) or Jenny White ([email protected]).

There will be designated areas for certain items and will be clearly marked.
