*PRAYER OF CONFESSION UNISON: Gracious Father, we confess how often we have failed to trust you and live in obedience to your commands. We have no excuse for our sins and confess them before you. We take comfort from knowing that you use even our failure and disbelief for your glory, and ask you to do so today through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Forgive us our sins and prepare us for useful service, bringing us to spiritual maturity in Christ. For we pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

THIS WEEK AT COVENANT

Complimentary copies of Tabletalk magazine are available in the narthex. This publication is produced by Ligonier Ministries and many have found it to be a helpful resource for daily Bible study. The topic for the August edition is The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Sunday 7/29

Covenant’s elders and deacons will gather this week to draft Covenant’s 2019 budget. Please pray for God’s leading and direction as the brothers work together to glorify the Lord through wise financial stewardship.

Monday 7/30

Fellowship and refreshments are routinely offered prior to the worship service on the first Sunday of evenly numbered months. Please join us next Sunday, August 5 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the far narthex for an opportunity to casually connect with others from Covenant while enjoying a donut or bagel.

Wednesday 8/1

The next youth communicants’ class taught by Pastor Muhlfeld and a team of elders and staff members will be held from Sept. 16 - Jan. 20, (omitting Dec. 23 for the Christmas breakfast and Dec. 30 for the Congregational Prayer and Praise time). The class is required for communicant membership and meets in room 109 during the Sunday School hour beginning at 9:15 a.m. All students age 12 and above who have not taken the class are invited to sign up in the narthex. Please pray for the class members and teachers as the students learn more about what we believe and prepare to make a public confession of faith in Christ.

Saturday 8/4

Many people from Covenant have enjoyed the Quakertown Conference on Reformed Theology in past years. The 2018 conference will be on November 9-10 and the topic is The Glory of the Cross. You may visit www.AllianceNet.org for details.

The softball season concluded this week with a 24-11 loss to Calvary Church in the playoffs. The final record was 13-6 and it was another great season of fellowship and competition. Thanks are offered to all who participated, and to co-coaches Jonathan O’Hara and David Schmidt for leading the team. The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated next Sunday, August 5.
