A Note from Pastor Phillips: Thank you for coming to worship with us today. If you are first-time visitor, I would sure like the opportunity to meet you and welcome you personally. Because I believe in a Sovereign God, I don’t believe anything happens by chance. I believe you were brought here today for a purpose. I would love to help you discover that purpose, and to see if there is any way we as a church can bless and minister to you and your family. Please stop by the Resource Center after the service so I can shake your hand. I’d sure count it a privilege. Pastor Harold SPECIAL POST-VBS EVENTS: This Wednesday, Aug. 1 will be Watermelon Wednesday at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 will be Super Sundae Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Both events are in the Youth Center and are for children who completed K -6th grade in June. If you volunteered for VBS and would be available to help with one or both of these events, please see Sandy Goins. Thank you! WHAT A BLESSING: To everyone who volunteered, baked, prayed and supported our efforts at the Cecil County Fair, we offer a great big thank you! Your willingness to serve our Father has helped to spread the gospel and share the love of Christ with many! TUESDAY MORNING PRAYER IN SANCTUARY: If you are available Tuesday mornings at 7:00 a.m., please consider joining us in prayer for our ministry, church family and pastors. Let us boldly approach the throne together to petition our Lord! DEAR CHURCH FAMILY: I am humbled by the amount of love my family has been shown during my recent surgeries and now recovery. I cannot really put into words my gratefulness for the prayers, cards, meals, and the love offering that was taken for my medical costs. I pray God will bless each and every one of you. Food Closet Our Food Closet has been a blessing to many members of our community and gives the office staff an opportunity to share the unconditional love of Jesus Christ at a time when it is needed. We would like to implement a donation schedule. Each week we will ask you to bring in specific items so replenish our food closet. Here is the schedule. Of course, you are welcome to bring in any of the items at any time of the month. You may bring as much as you like or just one item.

Our nursery is such a critical ministry of PVBC! It allows parents of young children to have uninterrupted worship with the confidence that their children are being provided with loving care. The toys in the nursery get quite a bit of use, and many are worn out. To help update our toys, we are holding a “Nursery Shower!” If you would like to donate a new toy to the nursery for ages 18 months to 3 years, please give the toy to Wendy Falko or put it in the coat closet with her name on it.
