Arnold Carlson was born in Walla Walla, WA March 6, 1927. Six months later their family moved to North Dakota. Twelve years later the family moved to Lake Oswego, OR.
He gave his heart to Jesus and sensed a call to be a minister of the Gospel of Jesus when he was around seven years of age.
He married Grace Cromer in June of 1944 and in September they moved to Pasadena, CA. He earned his B. A. degree in 1949 and the M. A. degree in 1951 from Pasadena Nazarene College now Point Loma Nazarene University.
He began his pastoral ministry in May, 1951 in Exeter, CA. He pastored Nazarene churches in California, Oregon and Wyoming. He was elected as District Superintendent of the Rocky Mountain District Church of the Nazarene in June , 1983. He retired from that responsibility in May of 1992. For the next 16 years he had the privilege of serving as interim pastor twenty-two times. He married Nelda Herrick in May, 2012. They now live a full life in retirement in Glendale, AZ. They are completely enjoying worshipping and fellowship of the Sun City Church of the Nazarene.
