June 11, 2017

A Note from Pastor Phillips: Thank you for coming to worship with us today. If you are a first-time visitor, I would sure like the opportunity to meet you and welcome you personally. Because I believe in a Sovereign God, I don’t believe anything happens by chance. I believe you were brought here today for a purpose. I would love to help you discover that purpose, and to see if there is any way we as a church can bless and minister to you and your family. Please stop by the Resource Center after the service so I can shake your hand. I’d sure count it a privilege. Pastor Harold CREAM OF THE CROP will NOT meet during the summer. SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION BROADCAST: The Southern Baptist Convention (June 12-14, 2017) will be available to watch online at SBCannualmeeting.net. THANK YOU! To everyone who donated items or money, cooked, set up, cleaned up, and purchased youth auction items, thank you! We raised about $12,000 to keep camp costs down for everyone, and send kids to camp who could not otherwise go. May you be blessed as you have blessed! PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY CHANGE: The June meeting will be Tuesday, June 20 at 6:30 due to VBS being scheduled the following week. Hope everyone can make it!

Thank you for joining us today for worship. Your presence was a blessing. If you are interested in learning about church membership, we have a “First Steps” class which meets in room 122 at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday. It’s a great place to start! If there is any way that our church can assist you or your family, please contact the office at 410-378-4476.

We pray that you have been blessed, and have found that coming to Pleasant View Baptist Church is truly . . . like coming home.

JAIL MINISTRY: Jail Ministry training is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. July 11, at the detention center. Those who would like to participate should see Mike Gentry for further details. ADMIN. & BUDGET COMMITTEES will NOT meet in July. ARK ENCOUNTER: We are planning a trip to the Creation Museum in Ohio October 13 through 16. If you are interested, please add your name to the list at the Information Center. WEEKLY PRAYER: Did you know that we have weekly prayer in the Sanctuary each Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m.? If your schedule allows it, why not join us in bringing the petitions of the church before our Heavenly Father?

Setting an example for the next generation

Each month, U.S. Military chaplains receive 27,500 requests for BibleSticks. As of May 1, of this year, 802,014 BibleSticks have been placed in the hands of our military who have requested them. If you are interested in providing one or more BibleSticks, please call Lauree in the church office, or place your gift in the offering plate with “BIBLESTICKS” in the memo area of your check. Each BibleStick costs $25. We will be collecting funds for BibleSticks until July 4. Our goal is $5,000, which would provide them for two full battalions! Last year, we gave $6,750!
