The mission of Summer Camps at Immanuel is to assist parents in building a strong family foundation. Specifically, we will share the love of Jesus Christ and teach, encourage, and celebrate the young so that they become a strong and sustaining pillar of that foundation.

Sports Camps

Volleyball (24) -- June 25-29 Campers will learn the proper techniques of serving, setting, spiking, passing, and blocking while enjoying games throughout the week. Camp Instructor, Kelly Rhett, is a former Immanuel Volleyball Coach and believes in teaching the fundamentals while having fun. Kelly, who is active in an adult volleyball league, has worked with kids of all ages and currently teaches Kindergarten.

Girls:

3rd-6th: 9am-11am ($80)

CoEd Flag Football (20) -- June 25-29 Upward Sports at Immanuel presents flag football for boys and girls. Kids will enjoy using newly learned techniques during non-contact games. Andrew Tieman and Zach Gulbranson will lead a week of skills, drills, and fun games!

1st-3rd: 9am-11am ($80) 4th-5th: 12pm-3pm ($90)

CoEd Basketball (20) --

June 11-15 OR July 16-20 OR July 30-Aug 3

Upward at Immanuel Lead Referee, Steve Smith, will help Campers refine skills, agility, and team play thru daily drills and games. Instructor Steve Smith has been a member of the Upward at Immanuel family for three years as a coach and referee. Steve is an Army veteran and is active in the community with kid’s sports programs.

July 16 - 20 OR July 30 - Aug 3: 1st-2nd Co-Ed: 9am-11am ($80) July 16 - 20 OR July 30 - Aug 3: 3rd-5th Co-Ed: 12pm-3pm ($90) June 11 - 15: 6th - 8th Girls: 9am - 11 am ($90) June 11 - 15: 6th - 8th Boys: 1 pm - 4 pm ($90)

CoEd Golf (12) -- July 9-13 A professional instructor from Whispering Creek Golf Course will provide instruction to girls and boys including correct grip, proper swing, and proper contact with the ball. Campers need to bring a set of golf clubs. 2nd-3rd: 9am-11am ($80) 4th-6th: 12pm-3pm ($90)

Education Camps

Reading (15) -- June 11-15 Fun reading activities and adventures with Immanuel’s 1st/3rd grade teachers! Immanuel 1st grade teacher, Elizabeth Gottschalk, loves to read and to share that love with children. Elizabeth has been teaching for 15 years and recently received a Master’s in Literacy. Kendall Bhatta loves to read the classics aloud to her 3rd grade students and incorporate novels into the reading curriculum. Kendall has five years of teaching experience and is very excited about Reading Camp this summer!

Reading (15) -- July 23-27 Another great week of fun reading activities and adventures! Instructor Sarah Ceithaml loves to teach reading and believes that a strong reader can do anything! Sarah has a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Teaching & Leadership with a focus on reading.

1st-2nd: 9am-11am ($80) 3rd-5th: 12pm-2pm ($80)

S.T.E.M. (15) -- June 25-29 OR July 16-20 Immanuel 5th grade teacher, Monica Wolowiec, is super excited about leading Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Camp this summer. S.T.E.M. education provides hands-on and minds-on learning opportunities that encourage critical thinking and equips the next generation of innovators. June 25 - 29: 1st-2nd: 9am-11am ($80) July 16 - 20: 3rd-5th: 9am-12pm ($90)

Science (20) -- June 11-15 Immanuel’s Middle School Science Teacher, Amy Moeller, believes Science is an awesome way to see and understand the amazing world that God has created. Amy will teach Campers that being good stewards of the earth, and using the knowledge He has given us, can lead to inventions and innovations that make life better for all. 3rd-5th: 9am-11am ($80)

Nature (15) -- July 23-27 Agi Walter returns again this year to lead Campers in the discovery of nature on the Immanuel campus. 2nd-6th: 9am-11am ($80)

Education Camps

Home Economics (20) -- July 16-20 Campers will work individually and as a team to cook, create, budget, and more! Campers will also walk to a nearby store for a shopping experience. Sharing life experiences and new ideas with students is just a part of why Instructor Millie Banwart enjoys teaching at Immanuel’s Summer Camps. Millie has a Bachelor’s in Marketing/Advertising, an MBA in Entrepreneurial Studies, and has been teaching Sunday School/VBS for 15+ years.

2nd-6th: 9am-11am ($80)

Cooking (10) -- June 11-15 Learn basic cooking skills, food sanitation, and nutrition while preparing yummy desserts, meals, and more. Camper takes home binder of recipes. As Food Services Director for Immanuel Lutheran School, Nikki Rutzen leads a great staff that prepares homemade, fresh, and organic meals every school day. Nikki feels God’s love when she is preparing and serving others and can’t wait to share that love with your kids!

Art (10/15) -- June 25-29 Artists refine their drawing skills and get creative with water colors and acrylic paints. Immanuel Lutheran School Art Teacher, Deb Risner, loves to make art fun by teaching a variety of creative techniques using unique materials and mediums. Deb Risner has a Bachelor’s in Education.

Jewelry Making (15) -- July 23-27 Amber Ruff-Olmstead has been designing and creating jewelry for ten years. She uses natural gemstones and metals, which are free of nickel and lead, and also uses natural methods to process metals. She can’t wait to share these techniques with Campers! 1st-2nd: 9am-11am ($80) FULL 3rd-5th: 12pm-2pm ($80)

Theater (40) -- July 30-August 3 Dana Robinson is the Music Director at Immanuel Lutheran School, as well as the Director and Choreographer of the ILS Middle School Spring Musicals. Dana has a degree in Music, Theatre, and Dance. She loves to share her performing experience with children and foster growth in their God-given talents, in confidence, and in their love for the fine arts.
