Greeting P C

Eternal God our creator, in you we live and move and have our being. Look upon us, your children, the work of your hands. Forgive us all our offenses, and cleanse us from proud thoughts and empty desires. By your grace draw us near to you, our refuge and our strength; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us. In the mercy of almighty God, Christ died for us while we still were sinners; and for his sake, God  forgives you all your sins. Amen. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you.

Hymn of the Day 521

O Day of Rest and Gladness

Apostles’ Creed

As a community of believers, we stand as one and confess our faith.

C

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

P C

… Lord, in Your mercy, receive our prayer.

During the month of June, each KOG family will be invited to participate by purchasing backpacks and making donations to purchase supplies. The Faithful Ones offerings for the month will also be used to fill these backpacks with school supplies. If you wish to offer additional funds for this ministry, please use an envelope which may be found in the Narthex. Checks should be made out to King of Glory with “Faithful Ones” in the memo.

I Sing as I Arise Today

Kenneth Dake

I sing as I arise today! I call on my Creator’s might: the will of God to be my guide, the eye of God to be my sight, the word of God to be my speech, the hand of God to be my stay, the shield of God to be my strength, the path of God to be my way. Alleluia! attributed to St. Patrick

The congregation may stand.

Response

Prayer P C

3

Let us pray: Merciful God, you open wide your hand and satisfy the need of every living thing. You have set this feast before us. Open our hands to receive it. Open our hearts to embrace it. Open our lives to live it. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Great Thanksgiving

P

We prepare our hearts and minds to receive Christ.

It is indeed right, our duty, and our joy…we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Sanctus

Words of Institution Lord’s Prayer C

With these words, the pastor consecrates the elements for Holy Communion.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

The congregation may be seated.

At King of Glory we welcome all who believe Jesus Christ is present for and with us in the bread and wine. If you would prefer not to receive wine, simply request white grape juice when served. Gluten-free wafers may also be requested. Children and adults not communing are invited to come forward for a word of blessing. Open hands show you wish to receive communion; folded hands show you want a blessing.
