Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center Top Marks for Quality, Patient Safety, Patient Satisfaction, and Employee Satisfaction Helping people live longer, healthier lives is its own reward, but a little recognition is nice. The Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center continues to be recognized for quality, patient safety, and patient satisfaction by third-party reviewers and organizations. And it’s also a great place to work. The hospital has a full three-year accreditation from The Joint Commission. The Leapfrog Group again awarded its top “A” grade for patient safety. Stroke care is honored by the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement award and Target Stroke Honor Roll. The Joint Commission has also bestowed Stroke Center Accreditation on the Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center, and it is an Accredited Breast Imaging and Breast Care Center. The Medical Center was also recognized as one of America’s Best Stroke Centers and Best Breast Centers by the Women’s Choice Awards. And the prestigious American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program recognized the San Rafael Medical Center for meritorious surgery outcomes. Building for the Future To meet the needs of a growing membership, Kaiser Permanente continues to move forward with government and community approval to renovate the office building at 1650 Los Gamos into medical offices. Kaiser Permanente also recently opened medical office buildings in Santa Cruz County. And plans are underway to open a Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to lead and innovate how health care is delivered.
