Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center Top Marks for Quality, Patient Safety, and Patient Satisfaction Kaiser Permanente leads the way in making lives better through its unique integrated health care model that continues to receive national and local recognition. San Rafael Medical Center received the 2016 Distinguished Hospital Awards for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades. Distinguished Hospitals rate in the top 5 percent in the nation, with the lowest risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates. San Rafael also received a top Hospital Safety Score of “A” by the Leapfrog Group, a respected nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for hospital transparency. The Medical Center was also recognized as one of America’s Best Stroke Centers and Best Breast Centers by the Women’s Choice Awards. Earlier this year, Kaiser Permanente earned the highest ranking for customer satisfaction in California according to the J.D. Power 2016 Member Health Plan Study. Recently, readers of the Pacific Sun voted Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Best of Marin for “Hospital/Health Care Clinic." Building for the Future Kaiser Permanente is moving forward with the City of San Rafael entitlement process with plans to seek approval to renovate the office building at 1650 Los Gamos into medical offices. In 2017, Kaiser Permanente is coming to Santa Cruz County with plans to open three medical office buildings located in Watsonville, downtown Santa Cruz, and Scotts Valley. To learn more, click here. Getting a prescription filled in a Kaiser Permanente pharmacy is faster, safer, and more accurate, thanks to a just-completed pharmacy information system upgrade. In addition, members can now visit a Kaiser Permanente pharmacy in any region (e.g., a San Rafael member visiting Hawaii) and conveniently get their prescriptions filled. Summer travelers can access the new National Travel Center at kp.org/travel which has online materials to help them access health care and services when away from home.
