Kid Konnection September 2016 Message from our Director:

Janet Boutin

What a great beginning!! This is our 47th year of educating young children and it is always exciting to see the children arriving for another year. Our staff has spent many hours preparing for the start of school. I am sure you noticed at Discovery Day! Every summer, we stay busy with school upkeep and repairs. We always shampoo carpets and rugs and wax our floors. Our playgrounds require plenty of ongoing maintenance too. Our big addition this year is our new “Wobbler” Classroom for 18 to 24 month old children. We are very excited to add this new age group because there is a great need in our community to service young students. Our “Wobblers” will be in Room #94. The classroom will be small with only 6 students and will maintain state licensing safety standards and NAEYC quality care. We have designed the classroom to foster creative hands-on play and the small environment that young students need to foster personal growth. Two years ago, a team of NAEYC validators visited our school. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a surprise inspection of our overall program. They observed in the classrooms, inspected our grounds, evaluated our administration and much more. The purpose of their visit was to ensure that NAEYC schools, like ours, are continuing to offer high quality programs. We are the only NAEYC accredited pre-school in the Hill Country area. NAEYC is the nation’s leading organization of early childhood education programs. We take great pride in the fact that we are NAEYC accredited and we constantly strive to maintain a high level of performance. To learn more about NAEYC visit www.naeyc.org. Get set for a super year filled with many fun and exciting experiences for you and your child!

For Your Information . . .

School Entry Gates Parents we need your help . . . Please do not let “little” hands use the green release buttons or keypads. We do not want the children to know how to leave the school. Also, close the gates slowly. This will help the magnetic device to last a lot longer.

September

Your child’s health form and shot record must be returned to the School Office in order for your child to remain in school. Please contact the School Office with any questions (830-257-0257; [email protected]). Thank you, Janet Boutin School Director
