Kids find summer fun on the water Who says the west coast has no waves? Nature provided plenty of surf last week just south of Manatee Public Beach for the annual West Coast Surf Shop surf camp in Holmes Beach, where Brandi Brady and her team teach kids as young as 4 years old to surf. Sailing class offered at Center Anna Maria Island Community Center is holding its second Sailing Specialty Camp for summer campers ages 8 and up. Camp will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 30, through Thursday, Aug. 2. The cost is $150 per person. Due to its popularity, space is limited.
