*  Joining KSA (the K Sticker), from the Aug. Newsletter Survey Question - I have 18 homeowners that say yes to joining Kingwood Service Association and 12 that say no.  Not enough interest, one way or another, to put it to a vote at this time.

Neighborhood Watch Update

We have over 35 homeowners that have volunteered, thank you all. The first meeting was held in August. More information will follow by way of email and newsletters. This program will be fully supported by both the MUD District and the HOA, but the Leader will be from the Neighborhood. We will need more than one to help organize this committee. If you are interested, please email me or call SCS with your name and number. In the mean time, email [email protected] with any news that you feel needs to be passed on to our homeowners.

Kings Manor From A Neighbor -

There are mail boxes across the street from our home. For many years, on a daily basis, our neighbors drive up to the mail boxes to retrieve their mail and then proceed to turn around in our driveway. This happens several times a day and not only is this causing wearand-tear on our driveway but sometimes they even drive over our lawn. We were under the impression that our driveway was a private drive and we think it is very inconsiderate of these neighbors to consider our driveway the turn-around for picking up their mail. Can’t they just drive around the block? Or better yet, get some exercise by parking their cars in their own driveways and walking to the mail box? We also see this happening to other folks in our neighborhood who just happen to live across from the mail boxes. Perhaps our neighbors need to be reminded to be more considerate.

New Dog Park for Kingwood

There is a joint initiative by Kingwood Kennels and Aaby Foundation which provides a fun and safe off-leash environment for dogs to both exercise and socialize. It is set on 2 acres of partly cleared land at 619 Lakeville Dr, just off Russell Palmer Rd. and next door to Kingwood Kennels. More information can be found at www.kingwoodkennels. com/dogpark.htm This is an easy walk off Greenberry for Kings Manor residents. Update on the Dinosaur Park coming to Montgomery Co. According to the EMC Observer Paper, the latest name given to the park is Earth Quest Adventures. “The dinosaur park, a $500 million project, will be built in East Montgomery County with the intention of having a dinosaur museum for children and adults to learn about the animals, a theme park consisting of roller coasters and water rides and a thematic hotel and spa that will be built within the park.”

This project is designed to keep families, along with economic revenue, in the Houston market,” said Frank McCrady, president and CEO of the East Montgomery County Improvement District. It is projected that this 150-acre site will attract more than two and a half million people and will create 2,700 jobs in the area, with 30,000 jobs just for the construction phase. The economic revenue from this project will not only benefit EMC, it will also impact Humble and other surrounding communities.

“A portion of the preliminary layout of the project will consist of dinosaurs in the front of the park. They will be stationary during the day and at night they will put on a little show. It will be located north of Highway 59 over FM 1485 near the Caney Creek Bridge,” McCrady said Construction on the Earth Quest Adventures dinosaur park is scheduled to begin in 2008 and be completed by 2011, but no later than 2012. The dinosaur museum will be created by “Dino” Don Lessem, a paleontologist who was an advisor to the “Jurassic Park” film.
