Kylie was a National Honor Society student, 4.781 GPA, 3rd in her class of 319, a senior at James Island Charter High School, she was passionate about people, lover of animals, an inspiration to many, a friend to countless. Kylie moved to Charleston from Spartanburg, started attending “FCA Jesus Pizza” and then connected with Ashley River through friends.

She was born June 20, 1997 in Daytona Beach, FL, Kylie was the daughter of Ron Gillette and Lisa Seman Gillette. Ron is the general Manager at the Charleston Country Club on James Island. She enjoyed studying French, where she won the National French competition and was in the National Honor Society. She enjoyed horseback riding, soccer, going to the beach with her friends, piano, cheerleading, and shopping. Her family remembers her as being energetic, passionate and full of life. She had a love for animals and was a wonderful daughter and sister. She was a friend to all she met. Kylie tragically lost her life a car struck her car while she was on her way to exercise at the CCC. She had plans later that day to participate in an “ice-bucket challenge” with her ARBC youth group friends to raise awareness about Lou Gering's Disease, attend church the next day as well as her youth group ‘back to school swim event’ the day before she was to start her Senior year.
