Our Story In the fall of 2013, the Chamber was working to organize marketing “zones” where their members had geographic ties; downtown Linden, downtown Fenton/Dibbleville, the North Leroy Business District, and the Silver Lake Parkway Businesses. With a small dedicated group, the Linden businesses set out to learn from some of the great initiatives the North Leroy Business District had implemented. Early on, the Linden group wanted to set a unique identity for their ambitions; to bring people and businesses to Linden to promote activity and grow linden’s business culture. The city was named after the Linden tree and our tree represents the rich history of the City. The tree also represents the “grow” attitude of all that we do to bring people and grow business in Linden. The blue water represents the Shiawassee River that flows through the heart of downtown Linden and creates our millpond; the site of our historical Linden Mills building. The Grow Linden symbol is designed to identify with what we love about Linden and to always keep our efforts focused on growth.
