Our Destination! A deeper understanding A connection

The Apostles Creed as a whole What it means to Believe The Central Theme: Literally What does it mean to US?

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
 creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
 who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
 born of the Virgin Mary,
 suffered under Pontius Pilate,
 was crucified, died, and was buried;
 he descended to the dead.
 On the third day he rose again;
 he ascended into heaven,
 he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
 and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
 the holy catholic Church,
 the communion of saints,
 the forgiveness of sins,
 the resurrection of the body,
 and the life everlasting. Amen.

3 Sections 1st: To believe in the Father, who has made me and all the world. John 12:44 Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me.

2nd: To believe that God the Son has redeemed me and all of mankind.

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in acco with the riches of God’s grace.

3rd: To believe the Holy Spirit who sanctifies me and wants me to be in community with others. Galatians 5:5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.

WHO IS THIS JESUS? WHAT NON-BELIEVERS & SKEPTICS SAY Jesus was a prophet… a very important prophet, but a prophet Jesus was a false messianic claimant Jesus was an incarnation of a really good spirit Jesus was a good teacher Jesus was an historic person… no one special, irrelevant.

A Liar A Lunatic The Lord

Apply the Lesson in your Life: In considering the Apostles Creed, is there any part of it you question?

Luke 10:27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.”
