Life Group Discussion Questions Ice Breaker Those invisible, hidden pictures – were you good at them? What did you enjoy or hate about them?

Opening Question What stood out to you from the weekend message? Was there a scripture, principle, or action step that has stuck with you?

Scripture Read Luke 10:38-42 What struck you in this passage?

How do these two sisters differ? Is Mary’s choice better? If so why did she make the better choice? What is the point Jesus makes? How do you serve others while keeping God given priorities?

Compare your schedule to Martha’s in this passage. What are the differences? When do you find yourself putting tasks before people or your time with God? (Daily reading, Church on the weekend, Small Group, etc.)

What does it mean to rest in Jesus? How big of a priority is taking a Sabbath day for you? How could you make taking a Sabbath day a weekly priority?

If you were to make a “stop doing list” versus a “to do list”, what would be on it? What would you cut?

Do we allow ourselves enough time to sleep and recharge in this busy world? When was the last time you truly rested? What is stopping you or how can you improve the quality of your rest?

What recharges you and connects you to God?

Application We know stopping, slowing down and having a Sabbath are steps each of us should take this week, what are some ways we can incorporate them into our lives? What concrete steps will you take?
