LifeSpring Church Children’s Ministry Coordinator Job Description General Description The Children’s Ministry Coordinator performs a variety of detailed tasks to assist the Children’s Minister in the overall ministry to children and their families. Special attention of this position is to support the Children’s Minister in the enlisting, equipping, and training of Kid’s Krew servants. Other Duties Include:
Paid Childcare (schedule, train, coordinate, etc.)
All Connections for Visitors
Stage Set & Props for Worship Kidstyle for both departments each Unit & Weekly
Bulletin Boards – Plan, Coordinate, and make sure bulletin boards are updated.
Heavenly Harbor Monthly Volunteer Schedule (update, distribute, etc.)
Sunday School Roll Promotion – Quarterly and Big One in September
Find & Equip Substitute Teachers/Assistants
Order all Miscellaneous Supplies (t-shirts, craft supplies, paper, badge labels, etc.)
Support the Children’s Minister with enlistment & training of new Volunteers
Power Points for Events, etc.
Graphic Design, as needed to support the ministry
Docking Soon, and Just Anchored Board for New Babies
Birthdays for Volunteers
Update the Teacher Lists for Sundays and Wednesdays
Coordinate with ACS Database Assistant on corrections, additions, and issues
Generate, copy, and organize various reports from ACS database
Design and prepare postcards, brochures, flyers, posters, handouts, policies, etc.
Organize and maintain files of literature, information, ideas, etc.
Assist with Vacation Bible School and Children’s Camp each summer
Write and send mail and email for events, meetings, etc.
May be asked, on occasion, to run an errand for the children’s ministry
Other office and administrative duties as needed and assigned (over)
Requirements This ministry position requires a person of integrity, loyalty, and morality.
In
addition this person must have a pleasant personality with good communication skills as they deal with other staff, the public, members, attendees, and parents. At times, this person may need to inform individuals of church policy and/or deliver a hard message. It is necessary for this individual to know church policies and be able to communicate them in a loving, Christ-like manner. This position requires an individual who has proficient computer skills, especially Word, Excel, and Publisher. Creativity, graphic design and database experience is a plus.
This assistant needs to be willing to aid the Children’s Minister by being selfdriven, detailed, proactive, and able to independently handling as much administrative detail as possible.
Hours and Benefits
The Children’s Ministry Coordinator will work a 40 hour work week. Usual hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm. However, Sunday morning and Wednesday night hours are necessary. Some overtime will be necessary during Special Events, VBS, and Camp.
This position is granted two weeks of vacation during the first year of service, ten holidays (inclusive of one floating holiday), and Personal Time Off earned at 1½ days per quarter.
Supervision The Children’s Ministry Coordinator reports directly to the Children’s Minister for supervision and evaluation. However, this person needs to be willing to take direction from other Pastoral Staff on rare occasions.
