FAQs

How many leaders are going to camp? We will have approximately 25 leaders attending. What time are the kids leaving for camp? We will leave the church at 1:30 pm. Please have your child already fed lunch and at the church, in the outbuilding NO LATER THAN 1:00 pm. How much luggage can my child bring? Each child is allowed one large suit case and one carry-on. What are you traveling to camp in? We will be traveling in school buses. How much money does my child need to bring? I recommend not sending an exuberant amount of money with your child. The only thing they will need extra spending money for is purchasing snacks at the canteen. All snacks are $1 or less. Are electronic devices allowed? We are NOT allowing any electronic devices including MP3 players and video game devices. If a student is found to have an electronic device, it will be taken up and returned to the student when we return to the church at the end of the week. Are cell phones allowed? Cell phones are NOT allowed at camp. In case of emergency, your child can borrow a cell phone from Dusty or any of the interns if they need to get in touch with you.

What about digital cameras? Digital cameras are allowed. However, there is the possibility of them being lost or stolen during the week and we cannot accept responsibility for any lost or stolen cameras. Who will my child room with? We will be staying in cabins that hold 18-20 students. I have had some requests for specific roommates for individuals and will do everything in my power to make that happen. With so many in one cabin, we should be able to accommodate most requests but cannot make any guarantees. What if my child takes medication? At registration, bring your child’s medication in a plastic bag included with name and instructions. An adult will take it up and distribute it to your child during the week. Who do I call if I need to contact my child? You can contact Dusty, Jennifer, Kendall, or Tim on their cell phones. We will do our best to have your child contact you ASAP. Dusty: (256) 679-4049 Jennifer: (256) 520-5907 Kendall: (256) 651-7470 Tim: (256) 603-2337 ***Please note that cell service is pretty spotty in Pisgah. We are including the camp’s phone number on the contact sheet in this packet in the event that you are unable to get a hold of any of us on our cell phones.

Is there a dress code? YES. We ask that your child does not pack anything that: • Advertises alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs • Explicitly or implicitly promotes racism, sexism, or hatred of any group or person • Explicitly or implicitly refers to sexual actions or situations • Has spaghetti straps • Is excessively short or tight-fitting While at camp, we ask that your child • Wear a modest, one-piece swimsuit • Wear modest shorts. Don’t dress in a way that calls attention in the wrong way. What time will you return from camp? We will return to the church (back parking lot) around 11:30 am.

*If you have any other questions, please contact Dusty or any of the interns.
