Encouraging Things With all that has been going on “out there”, I wanted to let you know of some very encouraging things happening within your church. Of course, you are aware that our Sanctuary has been fully renovated. While most of you have gotten glimpses of the sanctuary through our services online, we are excited that some of you will experience being in this wonderful space on Sunday, May 24th. Graduating Senior Commissioning Service: This Sunday, May 17th, our High School Graduates and their families (only) are invited to worship together in our Sanctuary. We pray this will be a significant and memorable gathering for these wonderful families.

Together We Worship: The reason we have this renovated Sanctuary is that our gracious God has led us as His people, to give sacrificially to this project. We are just over one year into our 3 year time frame for completely paying for this HVAC and Sanctuary renovation. We have received $2,150,120.74 which is over half our goal of 4.2 million! East Texas Refrigeration (ETR) is wrapping up its work. We have new units on every floor of the Wright and Education Buildings, as well as the Sanctuary. They plan to be finished in about two weeks. Thank you for your faithful giving while we have been separated! Budget Giving: While giving to our budget has decreased some during our time away from the campus, our staff has done an outstanding job of managing our spending. And, Scott Richardson, our Finance Office and our Finance Committee have continued to help us steward all that the Lord has provided. Please do continue to prayerfully invest

yourselves financially in the life of your church. The older I get, the more I see the reality of Jesus’ statement, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” (or, your heart will follow). Thanks be to God for our ability to carry His work because of your faithful giving. Sunday, May 24th: By now you are aware that you are invited to join us for worship, on campus, Sunday May 24th! We are excited to “re-open” the campus and are offering two worship services (9:15 and 10:45) to allow those who come to remain safely distanced. We know many may not be ready to attend on that day and we will, of course, continue to live-stream our 10:45 service. I’ll remind you next week of all we are doing and what we ask from you to make this day as wonderful as possible. Love Your Neighbor as we met as a staff this morning, Robert Watson reminded us of this simple, powerful, transformational statement from our Lord. We are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. As we begin to gather, and as we continue to minister to those around us, let’s be sure that we are acting out of love for our neighbors. In so doing, we demonstrate that we love God with all that we are – and that is worship!
