Living the Gospel -- The Gospel Galatians 2:11-16 My thoughts from the introduction:

Today’s question: What is the _______________?

I. Adding to the _______________ renders it _______________ _______________ at all. (vv. 11-14)

II. The good news for all is _______________ by _______________ in Christ _______________ . (vv. 15-16)

Today’s big idea: We are _______________ by _______________ in Christ _______________ .

Living The Gospel There is much confusion today about the gospel. Theology matters. Holding any view that our performance establishes or maintains favor with God stands opposed to the gospel. Our works as a means of grace is false. Trusting in our own goodness is false. Salvation is by faith in Christ alone. Our theology impacts the way we treat people. We have a hard time loving others with the love of Christ when they are different from us.

Sometimes we would rather break fellowship with those who have a different perspective from us. Today’s social media has given us endless ways to ostracize each other. We need to accept others based on our common faith in Christ. If you live your life in fear of others you will never impact your world for Christ. There is a great need for redemptive friendships - using your sphere of influence to impact people for God’s glory.

Questions for Discussion and Further Reflection 1. Why was Peter wrong in separating himself from the Gentile believers in Antioch? 2. What is the gospel? 3. What are the ways that we can add to the gospel? 4. Jesus or your own goodness - what are you trusting in for your salvation or ongoing acceptance before God? 5. How are you doing in accepting people on the same basis that Jesus does?
