Today’s Guest Speaker: Jim Jeffery Sunday, February 5, 2012 Jim Jeffery became the President of Baptist Bible College & Seminary on August 1, 2001. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees for eleven years prior to his appointment and was Chairman for three years. President Jeffery is an alumnus of BBC, earning his Bachelor of Religious Education degree in 1979. He is also a graduate of Practical Bible College (now Davis), earned a Master of Religious Education in Pastoral Ministry at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary, and has done doctoral studies at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary and Grace Seminary. He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by Shepherds Seminary in Cary, North Carolina, in 2005. Jim Jeffery served as a Baptist pastor for twenty-six years, including ministries at Grace Baptist Church, Binghamton, New York; Calvary Baptist Church, Sandusky, Ohio; Lakewood Park Baptist Church, Auburn, Indiana; and Calvary Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was ordained into the Baptist ministry in October 1978 by Grace Baptist Church, Binghamton, New York. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Alberta “Bert” Dart, in 1973. They have three children, Daniel, Amy, and Rachel, three children-in-law, and eleven grandchildren. He served on the boards of Baptist Mid-Missions, Camp Patmos, and Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan state pastors’ fellowships. His hobbies include riding his Harley with his wife riding hers, downhill skiing, golfing, reading, and landscaping. His servant heart and his desire to serve God with humility and excellence have characterized Jim’s life and ministry. His fervent desire is that he will walk humbly with God.
