The umpire yells, “play ball”, the pitcher takes the mound and the first batter steps up to the plate. The Gathering themed party “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” will celebrate America’s favorite sport on Thursday, June 21, in the Life Center. The Gathering team will meet at 8:30am to convert the center into a baseball park and hold a short planning session; Gathering guests will arrive at 9:30am. The fun-filled day will include arts and crafts, a sing-a-long, a program presented by The Learning Center, baseball themed games, a visit from a therapy dog and a delicious lunch. The Gathering, a Living Word Lutheran Church outreach ministry, is celebrating nine years of hosting monthly themed social events. Our guests have beginning to moderate memory loss and these few hours of fun and fellowship allow their caregiver a time to relax and a little down-time as they know their loved one is in a safe, caring environment. If you would like to be a part of the Gathering team or assist with lunch contact Mary Lou Volan at 281-578-9878 or [email protected]. __________________________________________________

So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 This simple tool is based on a focus verse from the Sunday text, then your household uses it in a nightly ritual - SHARE highs and lows, READ the Bible verse or story, TALK about how the Bible might relate to highs and lows, PRAY for one another’s highs and lows, BLESS one another. _______________________________________________________

What should be done then, my friends? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.” 1 Corinthians 14:26 We invite you to come and enjoy Worship Unscripted, an informal, Spirit-led worship service where you can come as you are. There is no script. There is no order of worship. How will we worship? We will read scripture together, and study it together as the Spirit leads us. We will pray with and for each other, share testimonies, and encourage one another. We will join together in song, or sometimes simply listen to the music as we worship. Each week will be a new and unique experience that God will lead us to. Worship Unscripted is held on Saturdays at 6 pm in The Life Center. We pray the Spirit will lead you to join us!
